Description
And I can do it again.--
HELLOOO I have once more created a companion piece to a deviation of ~krazykat-inc 's because her pieces are so inspiring (*shameless friend promoting*)!
This piece:
It's so soft and sweet in both colors and emotion. It made me want to do something the opposite; something edgy and vibrant with a kick-butt, "I don't need you and I never will" feel to it.
The wooden figures have no identity together in full view, but I do by myself and with only part of my face showing. It features a real person (me) in contrast to the faceless wooden figures, which I think gives it that feel of self-empowerment and confidence versus dependence on another person. When you're with someone, your identity tends to get mushed together with theirs. Albeit unintentionally, I think those figures illustrate that really well.
In her description she calls her piece a postcard to her future husband. This piece would be like a warning to mine.
By the way, this isn't my quite real attitude towards marriage and relationships. It's a little like this but a lot more toned down.

The bright orange hair is a perfect boundary between the white and black areas. I would have tried to cut it right at the tip of the lip for some more symmetry, but apart from that nitpicking, this is absolutely gorgeous! I love it.
