The ruined cities we passed on our way to the capital bore the hallmarks of ornate architectures from a bygone era. The capital however, is devoid of such things. The buildings and structures here are stark, expressionless, homogeneous and monolithic. The only distinctive feature commonly found on the buildings are the placement of windows and entry points. In some places, doors could be found high up, and windows are placed in strange angles. Nothing makes absolute sense! I didn't find that surprising considering the already bizarre layout of the capital. From down here, the labyrinthine streets, the absence of any markers or signs, and the buildings themselves... one could be lost forever if madness do not fall upon you first. But never mind that... I worry more about the locals who call this place "home". And I do wonder how our escorts just know where to go.
