Here's to another awesome year! Happy New Year 2014 everyone! Wield the brush and the pen and march forward!

The original photo plate for this piece was taken near my grandmother's house at Bataan, in the Philippines, about 4 years ago. It's a 5 minutes drive down from the house and we'd stop by during sunny mornings to enjoy the scenic view overlooking the South China Sea, and the surrounding lands, which I could only describe as, "feeling like we're standing on Irish plains". Being there really feels like you're abandoning the modern world back into the days of the 60s. The place used to be a major scene during WW2 and even today, you'll still see remnants of that period such as the buildings (now used for offices and commercial) that were built by the Americans during the olden days. Due to the place being quite far from Manila, there's no Internet, no PCs (well save the laptops and tablets we bring along). It's a perfect place to remove your mind from all the madness of this world, from one's busy daily routine, and from the slavery of technology in our daily lives. I like to call it, "Going off the Grid".
