POST-CATACLYSMIC REFLECTIONS - 1st ENVOY'S JOURNAL - LOG 820

After months of traveling eastward, I have arrived at my final destination, the end of my long pilgrimage, the Synod HQ. The place on Earth where all ley lines converge. A place of immense power. The holiest site on this planet. It is the most energetically stable and harmonious place in all the world, where any plant life you bring here will flourish easily. Despite so, this place is not a venue for religious worship, and is utterly inaccessible to the uninitiated.

Right in the middle of nowhere, the HQ is a walled city, a sprawling complex housing many research divisions, and many other branches of varying functions across the 3 tiered walled megastructure. The inner-most circle, stands the massive and towering structure known in our language, as the Epicentrum. It is the seat of the high council, and houses the most clandestine aspects of the Synod's operations. It is likened to a sacred temple. A holy of holies. Even among those employed under the Synod, none may enter this building save for those with the highest security clearance. Even then, these clearances are broken into several tiers within the Epicentrum itself. The Synod HQ, for all intents and purposes, is a government on it's own, independent above all in this world.

To the rest of humanity, the HQ is utterly invisible to the naked eye and to any imaging devices, as well as any apparatus that measures electromagnetic radiation. If you do not work here, this region will be nothing more than an arid desert in the middle of nowhere. Despite the sophisticated cloaking of the HQ, a larger outer perimeter is maintained in order to prevent civilians from stumbling into the area despite how remote it is, and the air space above is strictly a no-fly-zone to any human aircraft be they commercial or military. Only Synod sanctioned land and air vessels may enter the perimeter. It is no surprise that this region is the hotbed for conspiracies and many UFO sightings throughout the ages.

But as I stand at the precipice overlooking the complex, I sense a horrible corruption to the harmony of the site, as if the power in this place has somewhat diminished. Somehow, I felt a sense of foreboding dread that something is not right. I am haunted with memories of my first visit to the Hierarchy capital. That eerie feeling scratching at the back of my mind is all too familiar. The HQ seems deserted. The outer complexes show no signs of activity, no vehicle movement. This city houses thousands of employees and yet, it is silent as a tomb, with nothing but the howling desert winds in the air.

I am surprised that the HQ complex is somewhat in a pristine condition despite my expectations that it would have suffered damages from the Hierarchy onslaught. Save for the blighted surrounding lands, the structures within the walls seem untouched.

Where is everyone? Have they all fled? killed? I must get closer to find out. I must go to the very place I'm forbidden to enter. The Epicentrum. Whatever answers I seek, it must be somewhere in there.

As for the 3rd envoy, I hope she made it here as well despite our sudden and abrupt loss of contact many months ago after we got separated.
