Here is my second fan art painting for The Legend of Zelda.
This took me around 20 hours. I've got also the process in the gallery.
I wanted to make a real quality painting like they used to do in the 19th century of Link with oil, like we have never seen link before.
A realistic Link portrait makes you think about how you think Link's personality at this age. I wanted to make a mature Link, but still young, someone who is "The Courage", with this innocent feel at the same time, and especially, I did NOT want to paint the perfect good looking manga style guy we used to see now (which I like too, don't get me wrong ). I hope I managed to do it in a way it's different and still interesting
