Description facebook page

Here is my second fan art painting for The Legend of Zelda.
This took me around 20 hours. I've got also the process in the gallery.
I wanted to make a real quality painting like they used to do in the 19th century of Link with oil, like we have never seen link before.
A realistic Link portrait makes you think about how you think Link's personality at this age. I wanted to make a mature Link, but still young, someone who is "The Courage", with this innocent feel at the same time, and especially, I did NOT want to paint the perfect good looking manga style guy we used to see now (which I like too, don't get me wrong Β  ). I hope I managed to do it in a way it's different and still interesting
I hope you like it

Please, feel free to like this page on facebook if you'd like to follow up my work

I am in love with this piece so much, I can't explain how much. I don't know if it's because of my love of the time period or what it is, but I absolutely love this and it's just pure amazing, fantastic, completely original. I just can't say enough about it besides how utterly amazing and how much I love it! FANTASTIC JOB!

thanks so much KutsaiChan. For this piece, I really wanted to try a Link that nobody would expect. A knight that would have existed, a credible one. Not the "good looking" Link we used to know that kills the evil "ugly" Ganon. I wanted to do a Link with a past through his eyes with a normal elfic face (kind of). And I am not surprised that weither people really like it or people really hate it xD haha. All 19th century pieces have this kind of ghost looking, like a disturbing portrait. And I did a more conventional one here if you like to have a look.
thanks again for your kind comment KutsaiChan.

Ab-so-lutely stunning! You really created a masterpiece with this.
The lightning and the pose are great, and his face is just about elvish enough (if that makes any sense).
His face reminds me of the young SmΓ©agol in the movies, but that's in no way a bad thing.

Now this is something else! (as it comes to 'fan art') I like the concept and the fact that you didn't hold back into caring about the execution. To me, this piece is artful in that the context and rendition of a 20th century video game character in a style reminiscent of 17th century Dutch masters like Vermeer forces you the re-conceptualize this fictional character and the iconic place he holds in my cultural framework.
