Wow, you look different than when I saw your webcam picture of you in a hoodie

Yeah, well, my face does change quite dramatically once glasses are put on and my hair is actually revealed. I look more Asian with glasses on, although without them I still look fairly Asian. This was taken a year ago, so perhaps not the most recent picture ever of me but I'm like that photo now, except I'm probably more tired and weary than last year.

Well, I didn't change much For years, my hair was straight with blunt bangs over my forehead until my cousin told me it looks awful on me, so I put them off to the side
I look more mature now than few years ago because of it
Either way I still look Asian

Changes in hairstyle always make a significant difference. When my hair was chemically straightened I could pass off as fully Asian because it was almost as though my hair was of the straight Asian type. Although my hair is brown, not black.

Well you have pretty cool glasses compared to mine. And you're not wearing school uniform.

I couldn't even tell that you're wearing a uniform. To be fair I'm in a pajama shirt and in my messy dorm room from last year, so let's just call it even.

The photo was only your head, so of course I couldn't tell your clothes. Me on the other hand covered at least the top half of my body. But heh I'm not really complaining about school uniform; it's actually fairly comfortable, although I have to wear a skirt. >.<

Hahaha, yeah, skirts aren't really my thing either. If it makes you feel any better, I went to Catholic school for ten years and had to wear a uniform all that time, so I feel your pain.

I didn't even realise America had schools that forced people to wear uniform. This is news.
I've worn uniform all my life, so I didn't really have much of a choice. It was either dresses or skirts. >.> And while skirts aren't my thing, dresses are something I absolutely cannot stand.
At least I can tolerate wearing a skirt; a dress is another question entirely, unless I'm in a good mood.

There are a lot of religiously-affiliated schools that do it, and even some secular ones who choose to have uniforms.
I just started trying to wear dresses and skirts, just to have a change from pants, and it's really weird. I'm 19. It really shouldn't be this weird.

I'm 17 and I still hate dresses and skirts. And I insist on getting more shorts.

Hey, shorts are handy and practical. So I feel like it's all good.

My mom and I got into this huge fight over what I'd wear to this college interview when I was busy applying for those. I wanted to wear pants and she insisted I wear a skirt. I wore the skirt and still got rejected. Take that, skirts.

I wish it was that straightforward here. But I'm glad I know someone who detests dresses and skirts. All my friends seem to have evolved into that sort of clothing while I stubbornly cling on to shorts and pants.

Shorts and pants are just easier. And you don't have to freak out about awkward things happening on windy days. I always feel like I'm not quite dressed when I'm wearing them.

I agree with you on that. And also wearing a skirt while trying to break into your bedroom window that's just a bit taller than you so you're forced to climb it is pretty awkward as well. Especially when trying to squeeze through said window, and hoping the neighbours don't look over the back fence.

Well, it did happen. I've broken into my house like...six times now, because I keep forgetting my keys. Five out of six through my bedroom window. My mother couldn't fathom why my fly screen kept breaking.
I broke through my kitchen window the other time, which was more awkward because I was making sure my feet didn't knock over the dry dishes on the rack and I ended up stepping into the kitchen sink.

Seriously? That's freaking hilarious. I've never had to do that, mostly because my grandpa was always at home, but I can imagine that that can lead to some awkward situations.

Now where's yours?
Eh, kinda. This was taken exactly a year ago but my hair now is about the same length in the photo. It just has a tendency to grow thicker rather than longer to be honest.

I might put one up two years from now.
Oh right, I see.
Mine does both.

...That's no fun. The campaign is now! So make one now. The hair is the most annoying thing ever. Not even chemical straightening helps; only lasts for 10 months at best.

3wyl In reply to julietcaesar [2010-10-13 18:43:32 +0000 UTC]
Really?
Huh... My sister did that with her fringe, so it'd be interesting to see the results after 10 months.
My mother, as well. She has wildly curly hair.

julietcaesar In reply to 3wyl [2010-10-15 09:43:16 +0000 UTC]
It depends how good the chemical straightening has been done. When I did it in Malaysia it was with a trusted hairdresser from my aunt who knew what she was doing, although she only knew Mandarin so communication was slightly awkward for me because I was rather uncertain in my Mandarin as well. What I do remember about her is that she has dogs that bark so loudly they scare the shit out of me. >.>
Curly hair is nice if it can be managed. My hair is more wavy, frizzy at its worst. It's like it explodes outwards in a fluffball sometimes. >.>
What sort of hair do you have?

Oh... I don't like those types of dogs. =/
They do have awfully loud ones in Asia, no? O.o
Ah, mine is quite straight, but.. eh.
I think I get it from dad. I used to have short hair, but I grew it out.
It's more bushy than anything.
