I think there's a lot of things about this shot that could be improved.
The first thing that I noticed, while viewing the thumbnail, was the composition. You cropped off the bottom of the glass, so that throws the composition off a bit.
The second thing that I noticed was the grain, but that can easily be fixed with some blurring in PS.
This shot is blurry- but I like that. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

I think the blurriness works, given your tones and lighting. Plus, the blurriness sets it apart from the other glass shots, since it makes it look a little different.

Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate your advices.
Yes, the cropping could have been much much better, but it was kind of a quick shot, taken to see how well the bokeh would come out with the 50mm. This is why I made it blurry. (:
I know that the graininess is a bit annoying, but it was not the picture that was grainy; I was the one who added it on Photoshop. I was just experimenting new things. I sometimes think that the graininess works good in some photos.
I'm glad you like the blurriness, since I tend to do that to a lot of shots!
Thank you again!

Cool photo. The composition is a tad unorthodox but creative nonetheless.

It looks nice indeed - the light is kind of trying to evade out of the glass as if it was alive I couldnt quite explain the dizzy effect but it sure isnt anything simple blur... It's as if the objects were melting with the air or the blackness of the background... Gives me the will to lookup your gallery

personally, i would find this picture typical and stale if the bottom of the glass wasn't cropped.
looks fantastic, i love the low dof. :>
