Oh well this is just beautiful. I love the fox/snake (kitsune?) guy's tiny head!

I love the contrast of the simple background and the detailed, colourful demons. Great.

While this is a bit scary as they ARE demons, I can't get over the kitsune's little paw-hands. Mostly, I'm impressed by your demon, it's absolutely wonderful and I love his coloring!

Absolutely fantastic. I was a tengu for halloween last year and no one had any clue what on earth I was, and looked at me like I was a crazy man when I explained to them what a tengu was...

The composition is blowing my mind. Love the traditional feel and slightly cheeky-looking expressions on your demons.
Your work is so different from anything that's out there. <3

This stuff you're doing on wood for the last few pieces is very interesting. It has a great texture, doesn't it? I've worked on work only a few times, but it's really addicting, I'd like to do more. Once again I find you've done a great job on the expressions of the characters; they have such personality! and it's nice to see a triptych where it looks like one large painting split up; by that I mean with a background that flows together too. Very nice!

I love this piece. It's awesome, especially considering the expression on their faces.
[What I believe to be] Karasu Tengu: "S'up, bitches?"
Kitsune: "wtfxxdewd!?"
Oni: "RUN!"

I'd love to see it! and as far as breaking out the goache..do it! goache is some serious buisness.

I've always been lead to believe that the Tengu look dopey, rather than malevolent. Fantastic piece, Julip. The demons presented resemble authentic classic woodblock paintings.

tengu, 倩ηγare infinitely badass! never dopey, homey.
Tengu (Sojobo) taught yoshitsune how to swordfight! Yoshitsune like the king arthur of japan except more badass and less make believe. Tengu are the illest mythological swordfighters of all time. They got the illest kicks too! single blade getta! They're the slayers of vanity, dog's from heaven, how gangster is that! That's the science on tengu, act like you know homie! ...and the piece is fireproof, even though it's made out of wood! wood is like the DOS of paper.

i like when you use wood. it makes me want to build delicate, lightweight structures with huge, unweildy tools. also, i love the colors; i dunno if it's the wood showing through, or the total sickness of your blending, but they're...perfec.

This is goache? I just used that like, 2 weeks ago and it looks no where as awesome as this. I'm so jealous that everything you do looks like it could be found in a museum! You have such a good mind and eye for art, don't ever abandon it~
