LONG TEXT AHEAD!!! Please forgive any gramatical mistake.
“Zira was exhausted, she, Nuka, Dotty and Spotty walked for hours, not being able to spot any water source or even hunt for food. “Mum, where are we going? I’m so tireeeeed…” Asked Nuka, panting and walking with some difficulty. The cub hasn’t been fed properly and it was affecting his health already.

Zira snorted, she understood the cub’s impatience, but there was nothing much she could do at the moment. “I don’t know, Nuka. Quit your moaning. We’ll keep walking until we find water, at least.”
Nuka sighed in defeat, looking down and just kept walking. Dotty approached him. “Here, squirt.” She grabbed Nuka by his neck and carried him. “Now shtay quiet, yesh?” She spoke trying not to drop him. The cub just nodded and remained quiet for the rest of the travel.
The lionesses realised they were entering a desert land, the only think they could see was plain dry ground, bones and some termite mounds. Zira saw a stranger shape comings towards them, to then realise it was a lion. Zira walked backwards slowly, guard up, looking at her sisters and letting them know of the danger forward. That stranger shape then multiplied, so Zira saw the lion wasn’t alone, another three lionesses were accompanying him. Zira was a smart lioness, she knew the strangers were in better shape than her and her sisters, so the best option was to remain calm, explain to the lion they meant no harm and then go away. That was the plan, at least. The lion was the one who approached them, while his lionesses stayed behind, watching carefully.
“Well, well, what do we have here? Evening, ladies.” He said with a smirk, his blue eyes looking around in case there was more company, but it was only them three and…

“Don’t you dare hurt my mama!” A small threatening voice said, it was Nuka. The cub let go of Dotty’s grab just in time and jumped right in front of Zira, confronting the lion in front of them.

The strange lion raised an eyebrow and laughed softly. “Woah there! Aren’t you a brave little thing? Silly… but brave. You got some courage, kid.”

Zira growled down at his son, showing her teeth. “Behind me, Nuka! Stay quiet!” She put her son behind her front paws and Nuka, now a little scared but still threatened by the lion’s presence, stayed there.
The lion’s eyes were now focused on Zira. “No need for that, dear. I wouldn’t hurt such young cub.” He approached closer, still with a smirk on his face. Zira had her guard still up, and Dotty and Spotty were ready to attack anytime now.

“That’s what they all say, lions like you. Next thing we know, our cubs are gone and then…” She trailed off, shaking her head. She composed herself and spoke again. “We don’t mean any harm. We were just looking for water, and by the likes of it, there’s nothing here. So we’ll be going. I apologise for the disturbance.”

The lionesses remained watchful, to see the lion’s reaction. “I haven't introduced myself.” He cleared his throat. “I'm Prince Kifuji, this is my place. And you are right, dear, these lands are dry, however there’s a water spot not far from here. That’s where me and my pride go to most of the time. I can show you the way.” The lion turned and looked back, but the lionesses were not moving just yet.

“Why should I trust you? How do I know you’re not leading us to a better place so you can get rid of us?” Zira asked, baring her teeth. “And stop calling me ‘dear’, will you? I’m not your ‘dear’.” She said these last words with disgust.

The lion was not impressed by her response. “My apologies. I can see you’re a smart, cunning lioness with some… trust issues. That’s completely understandable. However, if I had wanted to get rid of you, I would’ve done it already. You are in a bad shape, your kid too, and your two friends. Come with me.” He offered yet again, his smirk now gone, and just stared into her eyes.

Zira observed the lion, conflicted, not knowing whether to trust him, attack him or just run away. She then looked at his son, who was looking down, and then her sisters, who were as conflicted as her. The lion wasn’t wrong, she thought, they were in a bad shape for the lack of water and food. She sighed and accepted the lion’s request. He nodded and started walking, with them following behind. The lion instructed his pride to go and hunt something if they could, and they were quickly gone to obey him. So now it was only him leading them to the water spot.”

After a while, I finally uploaded TLK fan art again. This time, I'll be uploading one drawing every week, along with a story, explaining Zira's past. This is my canon-story, NOT Disney's. The only thing Disney canon here is the character of Zira, Nuka, and semi-canon characters such as Dotty and Spotty. And of course some aspects of Zira's story is taken from TLK2.

I don't know how many drawings this story will have, but I do plan to make it fairly long, above 7 drawings at least. I'm sorry I haven't uploaded much TLK lately, I really love drawing lions but I also love drawing fan art of videogames and such things I adore. I do appreciate all the watchers you stood with me all this time, we're 1000 already! I can't thank you enough.
