This image shows the men of 1st Kompangie, Infanterie-Regiment "von Winterfeldt" (2nd Oberschlesisches) Nr. 23, 24. Infanterie-Brigade, 12. Infanterie-Division. I am 5th from left in the middle. My rank is Unteroffizier. On the extreme right is the other Unteroffizier Cyrus (Schloss). The WWI re-enactment took place at Newville PA, April 2013Related content

I believe that the winters of WWI were milder than WWII. we did not suffer at all from any cold.
