Crayon and Makayla had had a little rough path lately for Rosendal after he ended up in 8th place in the Steward's Cup Classic year 58, and then he came in 5th in the Pegasus Classic year 59. But maybe he would do better in the Saudi Cup this year? Last year he ended up second in the very same race behind another colt named Best Revenge by just a neck. But the field this year was mighty impressive too with horses like Best Revenge, Crimson Horizons, Into The Unknown and Arizona among many others. Makayla was ready though and as soon as the gates flew open she tried to urge Crayon to the spot he desired the most. The front. But the 4 year old filly Crimson Horizons had already went up to the lead and wanted that front to herself. Once they ended up on the other side of the track was when Crayon took the lead he so desired and he kept it. The Steward was calling them down the bend and the stretch and it seemed like it was between Crimson Horizons and Crayon. The 4 year old filly put on a strong fight and refused to yield but had to find herself defeated as Crayon defended his front position over the wire with a neck to spare.
