Description
Josephine and Kei were out fetching the horses to bring them into the stables for the evening. It was snowing when Josephine opened the gate to one of the pastures. Kei followed her and they went together through the pasture. The bad thing about all the trees at Rosendal, was that the horses could hide very easily.
- I bet they are hiding from us, laughed Josephine while she was walking.
- It wouldn’t surprise me either if they jumped out right in front of us, Joe… Josephine continued to laugh.

When they had passed some trees they saw what they were searching for. Two fillies stood close together with their rumps against the light wind.
- Hey girls, want to come in? Kei tangled up the halter she had brought and place it on Bonnylass head. The mare snorted and seemed thankful to come into the warm stable. Josephine put her halter on Angel, who was a bit eager to come in. She neighed and threw her head from side to side. After a few turns, Josephine had succeeded to put the halter on.

The both girls went through the pasture, the same was as they had gone before. Josephine went first with Angel and after her came Kei and Bonnylass. Josephine looked back at Kei as she looked strangly at Bonnylass, as if she waited for the horse to talk.
- Kei, how your doing?
- Huh? Oh, I’m fine… Kei was surprised by the question but smiled anyway. Why the curiosity?
- Nah, I was just wondering. I mean, you are very… “out of the blues” these days. Is there something bothering you? Kei smiled slightly. Is it about C.L?
When Josephine mentioned his name Kei stumbled in a small hole in the ground and lost her balance but re-gained it.
- C.L? What about him? Kei took a hold of Bonnylass halter to get some support, in case she would stumble again.
- I have noticed that something’s going on, don’t try to deny it. When ever someone says his name, you either blush or do something silly. Like the stumble there. Josephine smiled and pointed back at the point where Kei had stumbled. Kei felt like a fool.
- I like him, she admitted. Maybe even love him. This was the first time she said it out loud to another person.
- And how does he feel about you?
- I don’t know, admitted Kei and lowered her gaze. He is friendly to me and seems to care, but you never know for sure. He is like a book you cannot open.
- Just be careful, Kei. I don’t want to see you hurt. Josephine opened the gate and walked through the opening.
- Thanks, Joe… Kei followed while she sunk deeper into her thoughts.
