For 's fake Pokémon contest, though unfortunately it's still a work in progress ( sorry Jai-Ti )
Considering the deadline is tonight, I may have to pull from the contest - but look forward to this picture being finished regardless!

Seems like there was a bit of a deadline extension. Shame I was asleep through most of it, but I thought I could at least expand on the picture with a description of each of the characters depicted here, to give you a better idea of what I was going for in this contest entry.

The general idea behind this was that after having journeyed across the continent and earning his badges, my trainer wanted to give his team a moment of respite before entering the equivalent to Rebirth's Victory Road. He wanted to save the moment as camera footage but unfortunately things don't go swimmingly!

Bean (the Scropole) decided to relieve his boredom via mischief at the expense of Cheddar (the Panchi), who does not take kindly to having his snacks being nicked by the one team-member that constantly irritates him. These two are always at odds - Cheddar is straightforward but also very overconfident, making him an ample target for Bean who gets a rise out of prodding big egos. Bean thinks rather highly of himself intelligence-wise and so tends to play mind games, though his immature side really shines through whn he is interacting with Cheddar. Cheddar is loud but mostly has an earnest heart, he trains the hardest out of everyone else (though he still overestimates himself) and keeps Bean in check - he does not take any sort of teasing lying down!

The naturally clumsy Toblerone (Antoxylorus) is infatuated with Eclair (Pythagora), and he is trying to overcome his shyness towards her and hopefully become closer. It looks like things have heated up, but not in the way Toblerone is hoping! It may not be clear in the picture, but Bean is actually bending Cheddar's attack around him with his psychic ability. Unfortunately, thanks to that Toblerone's gas is ignited by the electricity bolts - and the picture captures the moment of his realisation that he's well... going up in flames. Don't worry, he's resistant to flames, he's part Rock-type after all! Even though he is considered one of the strongest on the team, Toblerone constantly doubts himself and underestimates his own capabilities. To make things worse he takes his failures very much to heart. After Cheddar, Toblerone trains the hardest of the team, and only falls short by his own lack of confidence which stops him from practicing as long as Cheddar. Despite this, though, Toblerone will have his moments where he sets aside his negative emotions, and puts in 110% for the team, at which point his opponents may liken him to an unstoppable toxic train!

Eclair cannot hide her amusement with the all that is happening in front of her - though she tries to as to not embarrass Toblerone any further. As a Sinotai Eclair was very reserved and moody - she had been abandoned by her previous trainer before and had a hard time opening up to anyone. With time she did end up warming up to everyone else, and now she's much happier with her new family. While at first she did not appreciate his advances at first, unbeknownst to Toblerone himself, Eclair in no small part attributes her change in outlook to him. Toblerone is a real goof-ball, and intentionally or not manages to lighten up the situation - as long as he's not focusing on his own failings (which happens sometimes, but he is more concerned with everyone else most of the time). He always manages to bring a smile to her face, and though she may not show it, she regards him very dearly because of that. She's also the most calm and collected of the group now, and acts as a big sister to everyone else - even Bean openly respects her.

That leaves the orchid twins, Pepper (Ranivychis) and Sugar (Victorchisia) for last. Both are mostly unfazed by all the excitement, still drinking their tea, Jasmine and Earl Grey respectively (they're both rather fussy). Pepper even nonchalantly deflects the stray bolts from Cheddar's thunderbolt, Sugar doesn't even bat an eye at how close they were to her! Trusting that her sister will handle it no doubt! Pepper can be described as a bit of a tomboy, she's energetic and rowdy when she wants to be. She's also a very naturally gifted fighter, using swift dance-like movements combined with close combat sparring techniques and ranged poison and grass projectiles to control the flow of battle. She may not be considered the strongest, but she is by far the fastest. Sugar on the other hand prefers to keep a distance, in battle as well as outside of it. In fact, she doesn't really move much from her starting position in most of her fights thus far - making use of a strictly far-ranged moveset that primarily focuses on preventing attacks from reaching her as well as tiring out the opponent faster by keeping them constantly moving, or draining their stamina through status ailments. Offensive-wise she is weaker than her sister, but through Mega-evolution she becomes the strongest offensively and defensively on the team. Unlike Pepper, Sugar can be a bit too obsessed with her appearance, and perhaps her combat style evolved as a result of wanting to keep her appearance pristine more so than anything else. In the picture she is purposefully facing away from the camera as she is a little embarrassed that she is not looking at her very best at the moment, and just wants to relax and enjoy her tea-time.
