Woah I jumped on this bandwagon lateAnyway, doodled up a Ginga Densetsu Weed screenie redraw! I've been a fan of the Ginga series for a few years now and saw the "screenshot redraw" bandwagon. The anime's good but sometimes the art can be a bit.. strange.
Not that mine's any better lmao
I was just curious. Anyway, enjoy~

I really ought to try this screen redraw, someday. I like GNG and GDW, but the animation in some episodes were just god-awful.

Same here, both animes are like a mixed bag. GNG seemed a bit more consistant with the style somehow, so its derps weren't as bad as GDW.

Wow, that looks great! The necks were waaaay too long in the original screenshot, so you improved on that greatly. I love the expressions too, especially Hougen's. You should definitely do more!

Your line art is a little heavy, but overall the redraw looks grat. Fur and shading is very nice. Anatomy is good.

I know, right? It's a shame since in some eppies, they actually did a fairly decent job, particularly in one and 25, but I dunno what they were doing half the time..

lol I have no idea. I think some of the team was not taking anything seriously then the other 5% actually gave the series some decent effort. I think the amazing animation mistakes and awful lack of detail in some episodes are down right funny. There was one moment where I paused and GB's lower jaw got about a foot longer.

I know, right? It's like they started the 1st episode off pretty good, then had up and down phases until the final eppy. I heard somewhere that particular groups of animators were assigned for different episodes, and it shows. Sometimes the styles are good, particular 1, 5 and 25. But the bad art really shows.
Oh gosh, I know that one! I saw another one where Mel kicked a dog, but they drew his leg like a human leg. I could go on for hours!

Yeah XD I can't tell you how many lols I've had at the horrible art! THere's the derping, the anatomy flubs, the weird motions. It's a wonder some of those people have jobs, because I wonder if they even passed art classes with how messed up and lazy looking some of the movements are. I mean whoo some of the noodle dogs have no bones.

Likewise! If there was an official drinking game for every derp in GDW, you'd be unconcious by episode 2. :'D There's literally just that many.
GDW wasn't the only anime tainted by Studio DEEN, they've made a load of others too!

pfftt! Yeah, that's pretty dang bad. I know there are bits in animation where characters are drawn funny for fast animation, but not when i's super visible in a still scene! XD
