I'm with you and dove on the Raikou smilodon thing, though I'm with the "legendary beast" crowd, and stay
away from the whole "legendary cats/dogs". For me it doesn't really matter if someone sees more feline or canine
in them ^^
Though I believe a little that the three are based a bit on Raiju, the Shishi and the Qilin. As some Legendaries seem to
be inspired by mythological things :3

Yeah, I'd be pretty chill on the topic of what Pokemon are supposed to be, I mean.. they're pokemon.
I'm not gonna get mad at somebody if they think a Suicine is meant to be a cheetah, deer or dog.
I just like to incorporate Pokes how I see them. Like I'd see dragonite as a blend of a typical dragon and maybe an orca, others would see it as an axolotl.

Yeah, I can get Suicune and maybe Entei (which tbh I'd see as either a mastiff or maybe a lion), but I'd personally see Raikou as a Smilodon.
