Kaylie approaches Akiyume's front door, carrying a birthday cake in a clear glass carrier...she knocks politely on the door...
"Akiyume! Happy Birthday, hon!" she called, smiling sweetly.

After almost one minute, some footsteps can be heard getting closer, Akiyume slowly opens the door timidly only showing her left eye...
Akiyume: Uhh... Kaylie-san ... g-good afternoon ...
Then she opens the door completely...
Akiyume: Akiyume invited you to visit her some time ago, she is glad to have you here... uhh... please come in... Uhhh... is that a cake? ...t-thank you ...
Akiyume didn't seem to be used to talk to people and she looked a bit nervous, but even so, she seemed happy and trying to do her best...
There was no one at home with her, it seemed that she had been alone the whole day...

Kaylie's smile was bright and cheerful as she looked happily upon her friend.
Kaylie : I am so honored by your invitation, dear Akiyume-san - and I heard that you were alone... I am sorry if I disturbed you, but I had heard also that it was your birthday... I could not imagine you being alone on such a special day...
Kaylie looks around the room : This looks like a very cozy home, dear friend - I am very impressed!

Akiyume: T-thank you for visiting Akiyume... dad James leaves at afternoon to work, his wife, Mrs Lucia too, and Sora takes advantage when they are not here to go out with her friends... and since Akiyume wakes up a bit late she does not get to meet them for too long... b-but Akiyume does not like her birthday very much, she would prefer to talk about something else...
This is dad James's house, it used to belong to Mrs Raquel some years ago...
Akiyume takes the cake and walks towards the stairs...
Akiyume: Akiyume's room is upstairs, would you like to eat this cake with tea? Akiyume will show you her room, dolls and cats too

Kaylie seems to feel a growing affection for her friend Akiyume, and also a growing concern. "I wish I could do or say something to make her feel happier," she thought to herself as she followed Akiyume upstairs...

Akiyume's room is somewhat big, her bed is elegant and covered in a purple veil, there is a drawer at the window full of dolls, Akiyume gets closer to the window through trees with orange and yellow leaves can be seen, then she takes one by one each of the dolls at the drawer and mentions their names...
Akiyume: look, this pink eight shaped owl is miss Linden, this purple cat with wheels is Marshmallow, and you already know Cinnamon, he is on the bed, he is Akiyume's favourite...
She takes Cinnamon to a small table in front of the window and put him at a seat, then she puts some cups at the table...
Akiyume: Do you like Linden flower tea? it is what Akiyume already had prepared, but Akiyume has more tea flavors in case you want another, would you like to eat the cake with it?
Then she sits next to Cinnamon...
Akiyume: Please, take a seat

Kaylie looks around Akiyume's room in awe... "such a beautiful arrangement..." she thinks to herself...
Kaylie : "Aww, what cute little dolls! They are so beautiful, my dear friend... Oh, yes - I love Linden flower tea - thank you so much!"
She sits down at the table, opposite Akiyume. As her girlfriend pours the tea, Kaylie prepares two slice of cake for them.
"This is a very pleasant place, Akiyume-chan... you have a very nice home here. Konstantin and I live not far away... and I am very proud of you to ask me in," Kaylie said with a bright smile.

Akiyume looks pleased but at the same time slightly nervous and uneasy, she seems to not be used to talk a lot, and her eyes turn all around the room as looking for a good topic...
Akiyume: Uh... Hmm...A-Akiyume does not know what to talk about...

Kaylie: "Oh, no worries, my dear friend! Hehe, sometimes I think it's a good thing that two friends share silence together, too."
Kaylie begins to sip her tea, and takes a bite of the cake. "Now the tea and the cake go so well together!" She looks towards cinnamon, who is seated next to her. "He is such a cute fellow! I used to have a little 'Raggedy Ann' doll when I was very young, but she drown in my toilet when I dropped her one morning..." She seems a bit embarrassed for saying so, but she also felt the need to be direct with Akiyume...
Kaylie smiled again. "Well, we could always talk about our boyfriends, too... how is Jun getting along these days?"

Akiyume's face turns a bit more relaxed and less tense, then she starts to slowly eat her piece of cake while drinking a little of tea from time to time...
Akiyume: Uh... thank you, he was a present made by Sora some years ago... Raggedy Ann doll? Akiyume does not know them... uh... Akiyume does not understand, did you lose her forever or do you still have it? that sounds sad, Akiyume lost some toys when she was little too...
...oh, and about Jun... well... he has been very busy with his paintings and he hadn't had much free time for Akiyume... ... he said he would come this weekend with a present though, he always makes presents for Akiyume, like drawings or buying dolls and dresses ... Akiyume wonders what it will be this time ...

Kaylie: "Oh, what a nice gift! Um, yes - 'Raggedy Ann' was a popular 'girl doll' from a long time ago... a kind of 'classic', I guess... but I couldn't save her from drowning that day...
Kaylie is wrestling with inner feelings as she looks tenderly at her beautiful friend... it is as if she felt some kind of attraction to her... the need for love is very great within her, and she seemed a bit embarrased by that... but on the other hand she thought that Akiyume might be thinking the same thing about her...
Kaylie: "I understand... Jun is certainly a very talented artist... although it's too bad that you both don't get to see much of each other... I can tell you that Konstantin is very busy as well - there are many things that he must do for our Master... so many problems to take care of... and they have to deal with the entire world as we know it..."
The girl shifts a little in her chair as she represses a slight cough...
Akiyume: Maybe Akiyume knows them, but the name is not familiar to her, it is possible that Akiyume have seen them before, she will investigate about it later... oh, Akiyume see... Would you like to have a doll made by sora? Akiyume will ask her to make one for you
Akiyume keeps eating the cake and then she resumes talking...
Akiyume: Yes, he is, he makes a lot of drawings of Akiyume, we always do a lot of things together, it is just that he has been more busy lately... uhh... master?...
She seems a bit confused about what Kaylie said, but she is timid, and she is worried that if she ask about it she could look meddlesome, even if she is curious about knowing more about her friend...

Kaylie continues, nodding: "I can understand how busy Jun must be... oh, I forgot to mention - I'm sorry - Konstantin and I serve our Master - his name is Lucius Danforth Halloran. He is a very brave and strong leader. Perhaps some day we can all get together and have a picnic! He enjoys meeting new people... no worries! Friends of ours become friends of his..."
With a cheerful look in her eyes, Kaylie finishes her cup of tea, and smiles warmly at Akiyume.

Akiyume: Oh, but what kind of doll would you like? she can only make easy designs, when she made Cinnamon she didn't know how to make an owl body and she made it with a Teddy bear body, everyone laughed about it but Akiyume thinks he is very cute...
She turns towards Cinnamon and softly caress his head...
Akiyume: Yes, and it seems he will be more busy these days... this is so boring... really? Akiyume heard his name before, but we both Jun and Akiyume thought that he was some sort of enemy, or rival... in a relative way, situations can be tragic and put people with different points of of view against each other, even when if they had met in a different time and situation they could have been even friends... but Akiyume is surprised to hear that, Akiyume would like to meet him, if he is a friend of yours, but Akiyume is not used to talk to new people, she is still very timid... but Akiyume will try...
Akiyume finishes her cake and tea too, and looking for another topic, already with a more cheerful look on her face, she turns her sight towards the violin case next to her bed, apparently, she would like to play a song for Kaylie...

< Kaylie blushes slightly > "Oh, pardon me my friend - um, yes! Cinnamon is very cute - maybe something like him? He's really a handsome fellow!"
Kaylie explains to Akiyume about the complex relationship between Konstantin and Danforth... "The two of them draw strength from one another, although Danforth is certainly the more powerful... he is endowed with the strength of the Zombarian race, and has honored us with amazing gifts of physical and mental abilities... for me, it was like a kind of 'rebirth'..." she began to drift into a kind of daydream...
Snapping out of it quickly, Kaylie smiled once more at Akiyume as she noticed her violin. "I understand you play very well, my dear friend... I wish I played an instrument - you are certainly very talented! hehe, perhaps I could sing a little bit while you play... "

Akiyume: "Uhh... hmm, but Akiyume forgot to ask what kind of animal, for example, Cinnamon and Linden are owls, but Marshmallow is a cat, he was not made by Sora though, Akiyume found him at the attic..."
Akiyume seems a bit confused about it, she has heard a lot of strange stories around this village for the last years, about ghosts, demons, possessed people and more, but never about that race, but it seems she got more interested in the physical and mental abilities part...
Akiyume: "Uh, really? if Jun and Akiyume could do those kind of things we could clean this village from all these people and only the two of us would live here ... oh, and James's family could live on a near safe village and visit us once in a while ..."
Then she walks to the violin case, she opens it and prepares to play...
Akiyume: Oh, thank you, would you mind if Akiyume plays a song by herself first? and then you can sing at the next song... this is Akiyume's favourite song, it is called Danse Macabre ..."

< Kaylie blushes once again > "Excuse me, my dear friend - um, I didn't understand at first! hehe, yes - I actually like both owls and cats! I really enjoy all kinds of animals... when I was very young, my family used to keep all sorts of animals as pets... perhaps if you could surprise me, it would be such a pleasure!"
Kaylie continues, noticing Akiyume's slight unease at her story about Danforth : "Ah, yes, well - it is a little hard to explain, this story of ours... but you are mine and Konstantin's dear friends... that means you will be Danforth's friends as well ~ and we have plans to eliminate all those elements around us who do not fit in with our plans. Of course, we will be quite... 'humane' about this... we certainly don't want to waste life, but we wish to... 'enhance' it..."
She smiles very sweetly at Akiyume once again.
"Oh yes! certainly you may play first - of course! This will be a great honor for me!"

Then she resumes playing her song...
Akiyume: "That was Danse Macabre, Akiyume's favourite song, every time you listen to it remember Akiyume please ..."

Kaylie listened intently to Akiyume's playing... she was completely struck with how beautifully the music sounded... how the wafting notes seemed to float on the air as the bow slowly caressed the violin...
Kaylie : "Never have I heard this kind of song before... it's so lovely..." a tear fell from Kaylie's eye as she spoke the words.
Kaylie : "Thank you so much for your gift of music to me, dear Akiyume... I will remember you whenever I hear it, I promise. And I also promise to have you and Jun along with us... you are very dear to me and Konstantin..."
She begins to hum a few bars of Danse Macabre as her eyes lift towards the ceiling...

Akiyume: "Thank you... and you are very welcome... Oh, you said you wanted to sing, right? which song would you like? Akiyume will try to follow the song with her violin, but she is still not good enough, so she can not promise anything..."

Kaylie : "It is always a pleasure, my sweet friend... oh yes - that would be fun! Well, the one song I know how to sing with the violin is 'Eleanor Rigby' by the Beatles... I'm not sure if you know that one - but you can just follow along with me... you play so beautifully - I'm sure you can pick it up..."
Kaylie starts to hum the first two lines of the song...

Akiyume: "Uhmm... Akiyume didn't know that song, but it is very sweet... Akiyume only knows a few Beatles songs, from them, "Imagine" is Akiyume's favourite... uh, is that the name of the song? ... never mind..."
She starts trying to play the violin as Kaylie beautifully sing the song, but she seems to have some problems following the synchronization with the song's rhythm, she makes some clumsy mistakes causing the violin to make weird random noises, her face blushes as she tries to turn her face away from her friend's sight or at least hide it by looking down and letting her bangs cover it...
Akiyume finishes the song with a frustrated and ashamed expression...
Akiyume: ... "A-Akiyume is s-sorry... Akiyume could not do it... dad James says Akiyume is his best violinist and yet ..."

Kaylie is distressed by Akiyume's upsets... she takes Akiyume in her arms and hugs her gently...
"My dear, dear friend... I am so in awe of your kindness, and your talents... I cannot play an instrument myself... what you did for me was beyond measure... I thank you so dearly for playing this song for me..."
Then, she brushes Akiyume's hair from her face, very gently, and kisses her very tenderly...
"You are my dear friend... and I shall not leave you, or make fun of you... ever... I have waited so long to have a friend like you... I... I love you..."
She looks endearingly at Akiyume, with tears in her eyes...

Akiyume seems surprised as she blushes...
Akiyume: "... Uh...T-thank you..."
Once again, she seems a bit stressed for not knowing what to say, she starts looking for another topic in her mind but this is interrupted by the sound of someone knocking the door...
" AKIYUME! ... AKIYUMEEEEEEE!!!"
It was the voice of a little boy, cheerfully calling for Akiyume, but, for some reason, Akiyume's face chances to a somewhat annoyed look, but she tries to hide it by turning her face down so her hair cover her face again...
Akiyume: "Hmm... is Fumito...
she walks heading downstairs, but once she is in front of the door, she hears a loud barking, then she quickly jumps to the dinning room's table trying to stay out of the dog's reach...
Akiyume: "U-uh... K-kaylie... could you please open the d-door?

A bit startled, Kaylie momentarily responds. "No worries, Akiyume!" she calls to her friend as she strides to the door, opening it slowly.
>> "ARF ARF ARF!" << the door swings open rapidly, knocking Kaylie off her feet. A split second later, the dog is on top of the girl, yelping loudly and proceeding to lick Kaylie's face.

Fumito and Akiyume, in their own ways, seem quite shocked and surprised at the sudden turn of events before them...

Akiyume: "K-kaylie, be careful... that thing is very scary..."
She said while staying on top of the table...
Fumito: "Ha-ha-ha!... Eh, Good afternoon, Akiyume... or should I say: "happy birthday!!!" are you celebrating? who is she? she is so pretty, is she your friend?"
Akiyume: " Uhh... yes, her name is Kaylie Minnowe, she is a friend of Akiyume and Jun..."
Fumito: " Oh, I see, nice to meet you, Kaylie! "

Kaylie slowly managed to get back to her feet after Coco's "over-the-top" greeting... she nodded reassuringly at Akiyume to let her know that all was well. She then turned to Fumito.
Kaylie : "It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir!" as she shook his hand. "And what a lively little fellow you have here!" Kaylie remarked as she glanced at Coco, who was wagging his tail furiously and panting with delight.
Noticing Akiyume's distress at Coco's presence, Kaylie sought to calm her...
Kaylie : "Oh, Akiyume - would you like me to make us all another pot of tea? I don't mind - I do this for Konstantin and myself after a hard day's work!" she smiled warmly at her friend.

Akiyume: "Y-you don't have to if you don't want to... b-but yes please... uh, linden flower tea..."
Fumito: "Oh! Akiyume, I almost forget to give you this, here, this is your birthday present!"
Akiyume takes the beautifully adorned present box with a sad expression and trying to look away from him showing some uneasiness...
Akiyume: "T-thank you..."
She carefully opens the box to get a doll out of it, it is a plush rabbit doll wearing a cute dress, it doesn't look really expensive but it doesn't look cheap either, Fumito must have worked quite some time to get the money for it, yet, Akiyume seemed to be sad about getting it, although this is right the kind of dolls she likes the most, she melancholically caress the doll's head while she is still sitting on top of the table...
Akiyume: "She is so cute... thank you..."
Fumito: You are so much welcome, I saw it on a store and I thought you would love it, so I bought it"

Kaylie calls out to Akiyume from the kitchen : "No worries, hon! I'm on it!"
As she prepared their tea, she suddenly became aware of a familiar presence drawing close to the house... the feeling started in her own mind - kind of like a sixth sense, or telepathy...
The girl thought to herself, "He is coming here... oh, and he is bringing a... present for Akiyume! She will be so happy..."
With the tea now ready, Kaylie re-enters the dining room, and at the same time a knock is heard at the front door -- Akiyume motions to Kaylie to see who is there... apparently Akiyume was still somewhat unnerved at Coco's appearance, so Kaylie obliged...
As the door opened, there stood Kaylie's beloved...
"Konstantin!! My darling!!" Kaylie cried. Konstantin grinned widely. He appeared to be holding a wrapped package with red ribbons tied around it.
"My love," he spoke tenderly to Kaylie. He then turned to Fumito and Akiyume.
"Greetings, my friends... I hope I am not interrupting your gathering... please forgive my abrupt arrival..."

Akiyume: "Oh, Konstantin-San... good afternoon, welcome, Akiyume is glad that you came... Oh, a present, that you very much..."
Akiyume slowly unwraps the package carefully removing the ribbons from it...
Fumito: "Ah, you must be Mr Konstantin, I heard you were Akiyume and Jun's friend too, nice to meet you!"
Akiyume was still unwrapping Konstantin's present, this picked up Coco's curiosity, maybe he thought the ribbons were toys, or even snakes, and he tried to jump to the top of the table without success, this only scared Akiyume and made her fall, but at least she didn't fall from the table, it was only a little startle...
Akiyume: "Aaaaaahhhhh!!!... F-Fumito... please... get this thing out to the backyard..."
Fumito: "O-okay, I'm sorry

Konstantin observed Fumito quickly moving Coco outdoors, and made a wry smile. He turns his attention briefly to Fumito.
Konstantin : "Ah yes, Fumito-San - I have heard much about you! And I gather that my reputation has preceded me!" He warmly shook hands with the young man.
Turning his attention to Akiyume, he noticed that she had finally undone the entire package. There sat in her lap a shiny new Stradivarius violin - including a new bow. She sat staring at the instrument - speechless for a time.
Kaylie : "What a thoughtful gift for our sweet friend! Oh Akiyume, now you can entertain us even more with your beautiful playing!" Kaylie beamed happily at the group. Konstantin continued to smile.
Konstantin, nodding slowly : "It is an instrument that contains its own powerful magic... the sounds it makes is only part of the power it possesses," he said, cryptically...

Fumito: "oh, yes, It's so nice to meet you
Akiyume, surprised with her beautiful present, got off the table, she didn't know how to express herself, she was not used to this kind of moments...
Akiyume: "T-thank you, it is so beautiful... thank you very, very much ..."
She kept quiet for a couple of seconds and then she slowly got closer to Konstantin, giving him a hug...
Akiyume: " "...

Konstantin : "Why, it would be a great pleasure, my young friend. Kaylie and I are quite fond of extravagant ceremonies, especially musical ones..." - he nodded knowingly at Kaylie.
He smiled with delight as Akiyume warmly embraced him, and returned her hug. "You and Fumito, along with Jun, are such splendid friends to have. There is much that Kaylie and I have to show you all - in due time..."
As soon as Konstantin had finished speaking, there came a sudden knock at the outside door. He exclaimed to Akiyume, "Ah, more company! You are so fortunate to have such a collection of admirers, my dear..."

Akiyume: "Uh?..."
Fumito headed to the door and opened it, it was Jun, carrying a big present for Akiyume...
Fumito: "Jun! you are here!"
Jun: "Fumito! good evening, how are you?"
Fumito: "Fine, thank you"
Then Jun noticed that Akiyume had more visits, he left the present box in the closests sofa in order to be able to greet them...
Jun: Oh, Kaylie-chan, Konstantin-san, you both are here too! that's great! good evening
Akiyume, who until then kept silent, got closer to Jun...
Akiyume: "Uh... J-Jun... "
Jun: "Akiyume, I am very sorry for the late
He gave Akiyume a hug, removed the bangs from her eyes and kissed her forehead, then he gave her the big present, she slowly and carefully opened it, it was a big dollhouse, with small anthropomorphic animals, all of them wearing Victorian dresses, Akiyume seemed so happy, she wanted one of these ever since she was little...
Akiyume: "T-thank you, Jun, it is so beautiful "

Kaylie watched Jun and Akiyume embrace, and turned her dreamy eyes to Konstantin. Konstantin returned her loving gaze.
Konstantin : "This is where we need to be, my love... there will be a future here for us, and these young people... among the New Order of this world..." his voice trailed off to a low whisper as he kissed Kaylie.
Kaylie : "Yes, my love... and we will bring it to them. They will be like us... they will know power and glory..." she spoke in soft tones.
Realizing that most of the eyes in the room were not turning toward them, Konstantin began to speak to them all.
"Dear friends - we are all celebrating. And I promise you that there will be more celebrations. I bring you all news of a great renewal of life - it is a treasure that Kaylie and I will share with you all, in due time. But for now, we will enjoy each other's company. There will be much to do very soon, and you shall all be invited to play a role in this new reconstruction of our present reality."
Akiyume and her guests seemed a bit puzzled by Konstantin's words, but they also seemed to feel a sense of wonder... of anticipation...
