Description
I'm scared of bathrooms. They're like a combination of everything bad, with the mirror there, and the shower curtain, and what have you. Something horrible always goes wrong in a bathroom in every movie. In my family's old apartment, we had a really leaky bathroom. there was a small closet in the corner for towels and the lock was broken so the door never shut. I think it was just the towels inside reflecting back light but whenever I looked at it from the corner of my eye, the door was always half open and there was something bright glimmering back at me.
XD
To make it worse, one of my biggest fears though is seeing something in a mirror (IN THE BATHROOM) and turning around to find nothing there. Or mirrors in general, they just freak me out. I can't stand to be in the dark with a mirror. It probably has some connection with all those Bloody Mary games you hear about.
Ok story time over XDDDDDDD

Whoa, my fear exactly! I just try not to think about it I love the way you've painted this, it looks realistic but still has an interesting style. The slick wet hair, the blurry reflection in the mirror, the sink...

Hehe I have one behind my door. My friend tells me you aren't supposed to have a mirror directly across from your bed because if the first thing you see when you wake up is a mirror, it'll steal your soul

Whatever the creature in the mirror is. I always think it's Nosferatu from the 1922 silent movie.
Since everyone is apparently sharing their fears. I was once afraid of my basement. Even after my family go it renovated with nice walls and rooms, I hated being in the dark down there. I would run through the basement and up the stair as fast as possible. I thought there were zombies coming to get me down there. Though once I was upstairs I was safe. I think it may have been induced from that one scene with the zombies from the Haunted Mansion movie.

I would be afraid of basements too but since we were in an apartment, that problem never had the chance to exist, haha.
I know what you mean about Nosferatu. I didn't want to make the image too detailed because I think the scariest things tend to be a mystery and they vary too much from person to person. Just the concept is enough.

Yeah I "hear" you. The scariest things are always the things you never see. That's why horror movies that have their scares centered around gore never really freak me out.

Great job on this! The creepiness is well projected.
I can relate with the bathroom. I hate watching or reading scary stuff at night then I realize I have to take a shower. I don't like mirrors, too-- especially when you wash your face that you need to close your eyes for a few seconds.

Oh my god... I have the same fear... This mirrors always freaks me out.
I'm afraid to see my face but with some unnatural deformation or not my face or something behind me...
And yes, this moments when you must close your eyes during washing face (or covered with a towel)... Yhmmm... Creepy. Especially AT NIGHT.

What do you say about mirrors facing each other and standing between them? I really don't like them. The place I'm renting uses Mirropane on the sliding doors; and the main door to my room is parallel to the door to the balcony so when you need to go to the john in the middle of the night, you actually get to see an endless line of your reflection in the dark. DX
I agree.

Or when you stare too hard at yourself in the mirror and the reflection starts to look like it has a mind of its own...
XD I think there was a wonderful/godawful scene from IT in the bathroom, too, where the clown's speaking out of the sink drain...

Oh, I saw a scene like that in a Japanese Ghost Stories show-- where the little girl is sitting in front of the mirror and when she looks back, her reflection doesn't follow.
Oh god, clowns. Hell clowns. Makes me realize I'm scared of a lot of things.

Your scared of bathrooms? I'm terrified of hospitals. A place of safety and comfort but it's like the entry and exit zone to life. Then again so many terrible intended or unintended deaths have happened in the bathroom.

I remember there was some horror show on TV, General Hospital? Stephen King was involved in the production. I could never watch that one o_o
But yeah, in the hospital I think it's a lot more busy. In the bathroom you're almost always alone XD
I suppose the worst thing for us would be a hospital bathroom.

Haha! Oh god, that's just cute, it's not embarrassing at all. I used to have to turn on all the lights in the middle of the night (even in the living room!) just to get to the bathroom. Pissed my parents off quite a lot XD
And I'm glad you like this style. It's less photorealistic but much more fun.

Omfg I used to do exactly the same o-o
Haha I can imagine it's a lot more fun! I love drawing portraits but it's not as fun as just drawing cartoons
