Description "The angel in the machine isn't a human. She doesn't exist in that capacity so she doesn't take sides. She's just here to keep the game running--she's external hardware."

Unless I'm reading the dates wrong, his was posted this year and mine was posted earlier, so clearly I didn't. He may have taken inspiration with the color scheme and used some other photo but otherwise it seems his work is original--and I wanna note that my characters aren't Chinese. They're just gibberish.

I think it's really mature how you reacted to that, but you do deserve some credit for the obvious inspiration in my opinion.

Thank you I'm embarrassed that I got a little cranky but it's better that people watch out for plagiarism and bring it up than ignore it, tbh. As for the other picture, I myself wouldn't have picked up on the similarities in a passing glance so I think it's okay XDĀ

I think it was justified considering you were somewhat accused of being inspired when it was actually the other way around. But in my book it wasn't really that cranky. ;D

Oh, i am sorry, I did not mean to come off as mean or harsh. Sometimes I do that when I type. My apologies.

Regarding the topic, I wrote the comment because I saw the dates and I miss read it. My apologies yet again. I thought his was 2012. my fault there.
But still, just because yours is gibberish, and his isnt, doesnt mean your work is not worth as much as his. But what ever,
Sorry again, Ian

In my humble opinion This is Art at it's finest, with intricate ornaments and dull monochrome colours...it's just so thought provoking and beautiful *_*

Wait... and then you have weak shades of purple, blue, red, and green in the background. Whaaat. There's even a tiny portion of dull yellow near the center. And then you used light orange to inscribe all those fascinating alien characters, which most people will instinctively assume is gold colored. I see what you did there.

What goes through your mind when you prepare backgrounds? Do you do backgrounds before foregrounds or vice versa?

It's mostly luck. I had a color scheme in mind here, but then I'll take textures from cg-textures or my own photos, overlay/soft color, and then erase and erase. I then merge the layers, pick out shapes I like in the textures, and then paint over it again until basically the textures disappear.

As for the light orange and gold, I didn't really mean to do that, I think. I'll pick colors pretty casually. I think after a while you figure what looks good and you'll repeat things you like--I like gold/orange over dark colors.

You have an interesting contrast of reddish grey shadowing going on there. Mostly white and grey in this one, what kind of shading is that technically called, "monochromatic"? Anyway, I like your quote in the description. It makes me think of the Guardian Angel from Borderlands 2 and her actions.

WowZah! this is fantastic! Daminit, I hate and ...er, love digital works, but I'm never sure how much credit to give to the artist and how much to the late Steve Jobs.
