I want to clarify something. Yes, I sometimes like to draw SpongeBob with Sandy. If there was romance on the show, then I think they might have a romantic interest in each other and maybe become a couple.
But I also love the lack of romance in the show. At least there was no romance in classic SpongeBob (apart from Mr.Krabs' sympathy for Mrs. Puff). I really love that SpongeBob personifies childhood and innocence. After all, in addition to love themes, there is a lot of interesting things in life!
It's hard for me to imagine SpongeBob in a love relationship. He's too innocent for that.
