to answer for a few people before it gets asked again a few dozen times.... (special thanks to mat7h3w)
1. You must use Windowblinds and use Windowblinds 5 to get the transparency. It's the Vista skin with the glass shellstyle by Kol that gives that effect.
2. You can no longer download Kol's skin due to the request he recieved from Microsoft to remove it, so no site has it any longer. I believe version 3.1 was the last version of the skin before it was pulled. Unfortunately, the only way you can get this skin now is to either hope that Microsoft let's Kol re-release it, or find it in any of the few rare places it still exists online to download.
3. You must use the Compact Menu extension to get rid of the file, edit, view, etc menus.... Here's how you do it;
First, if you do not have it installed, go to "tools" then "extensions" to open the extensions window, and drag the compact menu extension included with this theme to it so that it installs. Then close all open Firefox windows and reopen one so it installs itself completely.
Second, right-click on the toolbar and choose "Customize", once the new box opens, you drag the Vista logo, which is the icon used by Compact Menu in this skin, to the toolbar. Then you drag each item you'd like to move up to the area where the , file, edit, view, go, etc menu is and customize it however you like.
Third, to make it look like the screenshot, you need to turn off any other toolbars, i.e. the Bookmarks toolbar, the navigation toolbar, and any other toolbars you might have installed like the Google toolbar.
Finally, If you wanna change the tab color with VistaFirefox1.5.2,you need to edit your userchrome.css file to include the following code and you must place it at the bottom of the file under all the other code.
(userChrome-example.css in X:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXX.default\chrome\)
.tab-text {
margin: 1px 2px 0px 0px !important;
color: #FFFFFF; !important;
}
*|tab[beforeselected="true"] .tab-text {
margin: 1px 2px 0px 0px !important;
}
*|tab[selected="true"] .tab-text {
margin: 3px 4px 0px 0px !important;
color: #000000; !important;
}
The easiest way to edit your userchrome.css file is to install the Chrome Edit extension from the main Firefox website listing of extensions and use it to "edit user files" under the "tools" menu entry after its installed.

This is brilliant; any chance you could make it compatible with 1.6a1?

Great Theme ... I was just wondering how you got the vista logo next to the search bar and also how you got the file, edit, view etc. menu to hide!

You have to install the compactmenu1.5 extension that comes with it.

All you do to install this excellent theme is ... unzip the file (of course!) then just drag and drop the jar file in the theme window (can be accessed by Tools > Themes). Then, say yes to the box that pops up, after that just click on "Use Theme" (after you restart firefox once) to use it!

I am sorry to ask this kind of silly question.
I have the 1.5 installed but I don't see any transparent neither on the top part nor the bottom... how do I make it transparent? Thank you very much for the help, appreciated

I see.... so it is one of the themes from windowblinds?
Sorry to bother you so much, but.... is there similar themes (in Visual Styles form) which can be used like the setting that you have right now (transparent part)?
Because I already used up too much resources.....
However, still thank you very much for your quick reply and your work is very good!!
