It was something that she should've been able to avoid. Kasumi had the heightened senses of a fox; of course being a kitsune. Truth was that she had recently been resurrected after a battle with an unknown foe. As such, her senses were dull and her movements were sluggish. As such, she could not avoid the danger that came after her.

Kasumi stopped by a river to drink some water. Of course, she had been watched, by a massive snake. Hiding under water, this black-scaled serpent silently moved its massive body until it was ready to strike.

Before Kasumi could react, the snake had coiled her and was squeezing her down to weaken her. She did not have the strength of a jungle goddess and having been resurrected, her movements and ability to fight back were limited. Coiling her, it had pinned her arms in the process.

"Nnngh….vile serpent..." Kasumi grunted as she tried to escape. The only hope was her magic, but even then, she needed an opportunity to concentrate on her power, which was something that both her weakened state and the snake would not let her.

First part of what is planned to be a six-part sequence, and the first introduction to peril for Kasumi. Will Kasumi be able to escape, or will the snake have a meal; forcing Kasumi to die again.
