Description

Zahra never was one for confessions...It was no doubt, whether it be to a crush, or for trouble she had caused, that wasn't her thing, because she was terrible at it, first she'd attempt it, then she'd feel herself freeze in place, and her breath would get caught with her both, it was all the same the contrast, she'd become ridiculously red, or she'd started shaking in fear of the trouble she'd be in, so yeah confessions were NOT her thing
But then she fell for the blue haired goober, and risked it all
With the help of a stupid, stupid note
It was around opening time at Hinobi, Zahra had just shown up for work, which was around 7:20, it was about the tenth day of her heading back to Hinobi since school, and Five's first day back on the job, but he hadn't gotten to work until about 7:30 to 8:00, perfect timing
Zahra peaked through the doorway to the locker room, no one there, just as she wanted it.
She slipped into the room and started sneaking about searching for a certain someone's locker, carrying a piece of crumpled up paper in her left hand
Okay Z, operation love letter is a go she thought as she snuck about
I mean you can do this? right? she hesitated RIGHT! YOU CAN DO THIS, I mean-you've fought glitches way scarier than this, you had to babysit two monsters before, this is nothing compared to any of that she told herself this...this is nothing! nothing.at all... she finally made it to the locker,
And then all the confidence abandoned her body first thing just like rats on a sinking ship,
She started to eye the locker, uncertainty clear in soul
Should she do this..? Is this a good idea? It feels kind of stupid, to do this.
She groaned. Well, at least she was confessing, the thing is though, maybe she should do it up front. It'd be alot braver to do, but...what if she froze up? Well if she's freezing up next to guy, maybe she shouldn't date him until she stops
she looked down and sighed "This is stupid..." she grumbled
"What's stupid?"
Her heart dropped
"FIVE!?" she nearly jumped out of her skin as she seen him
she collected herself, "Uh I-I mean, what are you doing here, you don't normally show up until about 8:00!" she said
"Oh, well I woke up a bit early today, and I was a bit too excited to wait, so I came early." Five explained
"Oh..." Zahra said "Well that's good, I'm glad to see you..." she put her hands behind her back, holding the piece of paper,
"Same." Five nodded heading to his locker,
He opened it up and pulled out his bracelet which he left their when he had left for school, Zahra watched
"So what are you doing just hanging out in the locker by yourself?" Five asked looking to him
"Hm?" Zahra said
"What are you doing just standing in here all alone?" Five said
"Well.." She looked away uncomfortable, and her face started to heat up for about a few seconds, until out of the blue, she felt a twinge of...what's this bravery!? And she dared to risk it
"Do you really want to know?" she said
Five looked a bit confused at first "Uh...sure?' she shrugged
After a moment she handed him the crumpled piece of paper
Five looked at it dumbfounded, then to Zahra with a raised eyebrow
"It's for you..." she explained her voice fading at the end
"For me?"
"Yes."
He looked at it again
"What is it?"
"Read it..."
Five was still stumped, but he unfolded it and started reading it

As he read it, his eyes widened, and his eyebrows would raise, to the point where Zahra could tell exactly what part he had read, and each part he read, added to the percentage of regret Zahra had and yet she took it like a trooper and didn't freeze up not once, (HOW WAS SHE DOING THIS?)
Once he was done, he lowered the note, and he looked at her, Zahra done the same, and it went quiet for welt felt eternity, until Five had finally talked
"Zahra...is this from you?"
Zahra looked at him with a bead of sweat dripping from her neck, "It is." she replied quickly "You can see my signature on the bottom right..."
Five looked at the note once more, "It's...not there..?" he said
The ember eyed girl then proceeded to scream eternally, (but on another hand, at least this gave good reason for her to confess in person)
Once more they both just looked at each other for what felt to be eternity, however this time Zahra was the one to break the silence,
"So...I like you..." she said awkwardly "And, I just wanted you to know, because it felt wrong keeping that from you, and I wanted to see if I atleast I have a chance..."
Which clearly I don't she thought to herself
"You like me?" he pointed to himself
"I thought the note made it pretty clear..." she replied hesitantly
"Me though?" he said,
"Yes." She said "I-is that a problem?"
"I mean no...it's just-" he started to smile shyly "I kinda like you too..."
"You do?" Zahra gawked
"I mean yeah! You're really cool Zahra, and you're super tough," Five explained "And I'd be lying if I said I didn't start crushing on you, when we started going on missions together, I just never said anything, since I didn't want to make things weird."
The girl's jaw dropped, she couldn't believe it. Sure she knew the first time he'd met Five he seemed crazy impressed with how she fought and whatnot, but never had it crossed her mind he would have ever had a crush on her!
"And..." he walked over to her "I'd love to go out with you." he declared
"You would?" she looked up to him with wide eyes
"Of course." Five said "At Least once, if you still want too."
"Uh..I-" Zahra stuttered for a moment, trying to fight off an upcoming smile, but ultimately falling "Yeah! I-I'd like that alot!"
"Cool." Five said
"Great." Zahra said
The two looked at each other with a smile
However the moment did last for long, when they heard a shout which made them both jump
"FIVE!" Miko cried "HURRY UP IN THERE! I'M READY TO BUST SOME GLITCHES!"
"Coming Miko!" Five shouted
"Sorry," he said "I gotta go..."
"It's fine, I'm sure Haneesh is probably wondering where I am too." Zahra said
They both to the doorway
"Hey wait!" Zahra grabbed Five's hand
"Since we're going to be going out, were exactly do you want to go?" she asked
"Oh, well do you have anything in mind?" Five asked
Zahra bit her lip, "Uh...I don't know, I didn't think I'd get this far" she awkwardly joked, her face turning red from embarrassment
Five snickered at what she said "It's okay, we can talk about it later."
"FIVE!" Miko shouted once more
"Just not right now though!" he said "Maybe after work I'll text you or something like that?"
"Hey I'll take it! Zahra smiled
"Okay, bye Zahra!" he said, before running out of the room
"Bye Five!" she waved her face beginning to turn bright red

And just like that, she got her date, and eventually the two started going out

So, for everyone who seen my Glitch Techs Fanfiction Closer, I now pronounce a sequel one shot specifically for Five and Zahra, and how they had started going
Originally I wanted to make a whole story, and I do have it on a document, HOWEVER I don't know if I will make it still, but I at least wanted a one-shot for them, since the couple is so incredibly underrated,
In other words I have a chance where I may or may not make a part two to this.
