    kayo's life began in the bath tub of her mother's boyfriend's apartment. for the first three years of kayo's life she was raised with her parents in that apartment, thought she wondered why they never married like the happy pairings in the disney movies did. eventually, though, kayo learned why they never married as the older she got the more her parents fought. the more they physically fought, and it terrified kayo as a child. kayo took movies with happy endings to be her escape from the abuse in her home, that even sometimes reached her from both her mother and father. one night after a bad fight, which resulted in kayo getting a large bruise on her arm, kayo's mother made the rash decision to leave her boyfriend. from here is where kayo's life got harder than before, having a mother that bounced around from boyfriend to boyfriend.
entering elementary school, kayo decided she wanted to be involved in something to distract herself from home life. her mother still fought often with everyone she was with, and seemed to be a person who just couldn't get her way. alone, though, her mother was a fine woman. kayo still loved movies, and after watching a few about ballet, decided that it was something she'd love to do. elementary school was a good time in life, despite the fights at home. they weren't bad fights like when she was younger, but she was afraid that they'd end up like that again. kayo grew in elegance with her 6 years in ballet, but quit and decided to move to something new in middle school.
the fights died down, and her mother was dating a new man. kayo doubted they'd stay together. she started hockey once she entered middleschool, and also got involved in choir. she loved dancing to the music in ballet, and wanted to still be connected to music in a way. and for hockey, she just wanted to be active in a sport that didn't have her sweat much. it's cold in ice rinks, how bad could sweating be? kayo soon learned that you sweat just as often in hockey than you would in other sports, but... she still found it thrilling to move on the ice. but not thrilling enough. after two years, kayo quit and took a break from sports to grow interested in musicals and theatre productions performed by the local highschool, ininka highschool. during this time period, kayo thought a lot about life's wilder things, like love. she was in a few relationships in her own by now, and learned her lessons. experiencing her mother's relationship roll, then her own, kayo grew skeptical of love even being possible to achieve without a miracle. she grew focused on herself, and learned to ignore her mother's fights. she didn't grow strong bonds with her new 'fathers', but just kept it good with her mother, who supported kayo and never fought much. kayo grew a passion for theatre and decided she wanted to try that out once reaching highschool, to be a part of ininka's theatre program.
kayo began ice skating at the start of her freshman year in highschool. starting over again in a new school, she decided it was a good way to start off her highschool career paired up with theatre class. she knew it was the exact thing that was missing from hockey; elegance. and it also had the skills from ballet she needed warming up on! once getting on the ice in this new way, kayo quickly learned that she loved the way she felt dancing on the ice. she thrived on the elegant feeling she could give off in the rink, and loved that she could choose whatever kind of music to skate to. with such passion for the sport, she decided to stick to it for as long as she could. kayo learned that she loved seeing herself improve and lived off of that thrill. she worked very hard during the figure-skating season, off season, and even during the summer whenever she wasn't preoccupied by the practice of her theatre class.
   despite kayo's lack of timely experience in the sport, she's been able to get a good hand with her jumps and spins. she highly enjoys dancing to romantic-themed pieces, and hopes to be a part of more ice dances in her junior year.
at home kayo's gotten closer to her mother and fights have died down. her mother finally found someone suited for herself and even getting married during kayo's sophomore year. though she'd never call the new man in the house her 'father', he's a decent guy(also kayo's mum's sugar daddy. they're loaded.
