Description
schools across America are cutting art and music from their curriculums. SAVE THE ART.for a school project-- I had to make a poster about an issue that concerns me.
Edit-- Thanks for DD and all your nice comments. This is so much more popular than I ever thought it would be :B

Yeah, but I hate it when people say things like "Wow, that's really good... for a 14-year old."

Art at my school was crap, so i decided not tocarry on with it. Then, after I'd chosen my options, blow me, we had a new art department, 50 new art computers and a huge new area.
Still, I hate 'still life' anyway.
Nice work.

It's sad to think that society drives you to be more economically minded, to have the best car, the best gadgets, the highest income YET it does not cultivate the very thing that defines what we are as sentient beings: Imagination.
....I was always taught in Bio that it was because of our imagination that we survived through evolution and against predators that were stronger, faster and, in every sense of the word, tougher than we were...
..and to think people want to give that up for BMW or a Rolex.....
(props to you for fighting the good fight! )

I was in band throughout high school and marching band in my junior and senior years. It's sad that students are being forced to take these stupid standardized tests. I have heard of some school districts cutting back or completely eliminating subjects that aren't on these tests.
Congrats on the DD.

I wish this was a t-shirt. I would so wear one. Heck, if it wasn't for the fact that I wouldn't want to steal such amazing artwork, I'd just make myself one. I hope you got a good grade or whatever...but even if you didn't, it doesn't matter, this still rocks.

It would be shameful of me to not fave this...
At my highschool, every year it is traditional for the Art Honors class to paint 6 out of 14 murals around campus (rotating around, of course). But, we're lowering that to 13 murals now because my school decided to cover one of the murals with VENDING MACHINES.
There is little respect for art anymore in the school systems... >_<

I think Gym needs to be cut before Art class. The Government is not thinking.

I totally agree with you. Gym is way less important then art, or any other class. If they had to cut something from school, cut gym.

This is great! Art and music are very cool and useful, you can do almost anything and the teachers accept...a lot of imagination types. Wonderful poster X3
