Hanabi: So Naruto, we're here, so what should we do for fun?

Naruto: (raises eyebrow at Hanabi) Fun?

Hanabi: (giggles and start poking Naruto in the ribs) That's right, fun. You used to be a prankster from what Nee-chan (Hinata) told me.

Naruto: (Having enough of the poking, he gives a mischief grin) Alright, Firecracker, we'll have fun.

(He then lifts Hanabi into the air, causing the girl to laugh as she looks down at his face with a smile)

Hanabi: What are you doing, Naruto?! (She giggles again)

Naruto: Oh, just having some fun with my Firecracker.

Hanabi: (giggles yet again) Will he ever stop calling me by that nickname? Yet from what I know, even firecrackers can be deadly.

Yeah, the above written mini-story is what I imagined would happen to fit the scene in the art above. From what I gather in The Last movie, Hanabi sure is a mischivous and cute girl, so it's easy to tell she would not mind having fun. I'm sure she would get along with Naruto well given how much the two would have fun together. Heck, if Naruto had not paired up with Hinata, I think he would have fallen for Hanabi when she gets older and matured into a lovely young strong kunoichi and woman.

So yep, this scene, of Naruto amusingly lifting an older Hanabi into the air, was crop from a commission done for me by !

The idea for this Naruto/Hanabi scene came to me when I was thinking of creating the next edition for the Naruto Harem Swimsuits Theme . I already had thought of the swimsuit design for Hanabi, yet I wanted to pair her up with Naruto. Then it came to me how much Hanabi seems to be the type to have lots of fun, so my brain came up with this idea of Naruto lifting Hanabi in the air along side the beach. It's a fun and amusing scene, and after I gave all the information and references to Amenoosa , he did a great job with drawing up my idea. As one can see here, Hanabi looks cute and lovely as she amusingly smiles down at Naruto while he lifts her into the air. It truly shows the pair having fun.

Oh, the swimsuit Hanabi is wearing is a modification of a one-piece swimsuit I found online. It was already orange and black, thus I asked Amen to simply remove certain areas of the mid-section, giving the swimsuit seen in this scene.

Now obviously this is just a crop close-up. To see the full-version, which shows the entire fun scene of Naruto lifting Hanabi in the air, I recommend to check it out at Amenoosa 's page by clickign on the thumbnail below. I really like how Amen drew Hanabi's legs.

Now I can hear some of you asking to why Hanabi? What is it about her that I see might be worth pairing her with Naruto? Well, honestly, for years, long before The Last movie (and the single anime episode of Super Deform Rock Lee), Hanabi was pretty much a clean-slate. Other than knowing her as Hinata's younger sister, what did we know about her? Pretty much nothing. Not even Kishimoto gave her any character development in the manga, thus even Tenten was more developed as a character than Hanabi. This is why for years fanfic writers had free-reign to write-up Hanabi to what they imagined her personality to be. I read plenty of Naruto/Hanabi fics, and given she is the Hyuuga Clan's second princess under Hinata, Hanabi was mostly written as a strong kunoichi growing up, and I mostly think Naruto should be paired with a strong woman who is a kunoichi. I doubt Hanabi would not become a kunoichi, since it was clear she was trained under her father for some time. So thanks to some Naruto/Hanabi fanfics, I had started liking the notion of this crack pairing.

Yet given what I've seen in The Last movie, I have to say I really like Hanabi's playful, mischivous personality, and much like Fuu, I really can see her and Naruto together having fun, etc. That is when she is older than her age in The Last movie. So out of all the younger girls in the Naruto World, I now like more the notion of Naruto and Hanabi as a pair. (Please note that this is just my thoughts and opinion on why I like this crack pairing. I'm not speaking for any of you out there. )

So there you have it! Naruto and Hanabi having fun at the beach as he lifts her into the air much to her amusement. I really do love how cute and lovely Hanabi is.

Oh... One last thing... I can hear some of you questioning the title I had given to this commissioned art. I do understand the word 'hanabi' is Japanese for 'fireworks', yet 'firecrackers' is a synonym for 'fireworks' so they're almost the same. If you think about it, firecrackers are not harmless, given they can do harm. Ever heard of kids blowing up mail boxes with firecrackers? What would happen to your hand if you hold a lit firecracker in it? Yep, your hand will blow-up and you'll be without a hand. So giving Hanabi the nickname of "Firecracker" may sound demeaning, yet it fits her well as a strong kunoichi who can do harm to others. Besides, "Fireworks" just does not sound right for a nickname, not to mention it does not sound fun saying it. "Firecracker" sounds right as well as fun to say it for a nickname, thus why it fits for Naruto to give Hanabi that nickname.
