See my idea is that, becouse this takes place in the future, machine guns have becomed standart hunting weapons. See what happened to lever action rifles, they started out as revolutionary weapons and now are used for hunting. Same with bolt action rifles, WW1 and WW2 saw them as the main weapon of combat, now the primary use is hunting. This also happened to Bows, Crossbows, Muskets, etc.

Today, we've got stuff like EXACTO bullets, thanks to AI technology you don't even have to aim at the enemies, the bullet itself will fly towards it. So I suspect that in the future of Paleo Hunting Safaris LLC, assault rifles and machine guns have been outdoned by other weapons and so, found their ownly market in the hunting industry. In the 22th century, a handy AR might just be what you take back to the cretaceous to take down a Tyrannosaurus.
