Critique does not equal criticism. They are very very different

Now I'm getting confused here, I really thought they are similar in meaning, even checked dictionary.com
Now that I think of it what I meant to say was "well, you did request critique on your work, so I am critiquing, so stop criticizing me for critiquing you" Does that sound about right? English is not my mother tongue so I sometimes type stuff incorrectly.

Critique is a response which carries with it evaluations which are not value judgments. That means that the response says what a piece is or isn't, but never tries to say what it's worth. A criticism is a value judgment, or assigning value to a piece or whatever else you're criticizing. So critique is much more likely to be helpful than criticism, and also does not attempt to affect the artist's emotions or feelings of worth or lack thereof one way or the other. Criticism does involve emotions and the evaluations of ones self worth and therefor stands a higher chance to be damaging and unhelpful. Understand?
