UNI-PDR: Often called SCR’s right hand, this Truth-Bearer was one of the first subtle converts from the empire at large. Pragmatic, empathetic and forward thinking, PDR realized the potential for SCR’s rapid climb up the UNI hierarchy and threw in her lot with the upstart. The unique ability she possesses was simply too potent of an advantage for the convert to ignore.

The size that PDR assumes can vary quite wildly, with sightings as small as a couple hundred meters all the way up to a truly colossal form assumed when repelling a planetary invasion, wherein she simply brought her thumb and forefinger together over the invader’s entire fleet -reducing the 5000-strong armada to dust in the blink of an eye. However no matter what size she prefers, there is one article of her clothing that draws particular interest: the small sword that hangs from the band around her neck. Of course, small is a relative term -the sword itself is over 100 meters long- but nevertheless remains the one piece of her outfit that remains the same size, betraying it’s foreign construction.

The story goes that following the eager and willing conversion of a low-tech civilization on an unimportant backwater planet, it’s inhabitants were so invested in PDR’s role as “protector” that they pooled an enormous amount of resources in order to build a suitable weapon for their holy defender. This weapon, worked by the finest craftsmen over the decades was finally presented when the ruler of the land used the transponder left behind by PDR to summon their guardian. PDR, expecting the planet to be under siege or some other cataclysmic threat, appeared in the system at a somewhat greater scale than previous encounters. As her body filled their sky, the craftsman came to realize that all their work was for nothing -the power of PDR was simply beyond their comprehension. As they despaired, PDR began to shrink toward the planets surface, looking to investigate the call’s source before finally laying eyes upon the planet’s gift to her. Where most UNI would scoff at the comparatively meager offering made by the barely visible ants beneath them PDR instead realized the great effort that had been expended in her name -effort that was foreign to her and her sisters. Touched by their offering, PDR hastily returned to her previous visitation size, and though she still loomed over the small villages and forts of the people below she found that the sword’s handle fit her hand perfectly, it’s weight in minute balance. Holding this testament to faith and loyalty, she looked down at the gathered masses and did something near-unheard of among her species; she addressed them as friends and gave them the greatest gift she could -her genuine respect.

And now it still hangs -often minuscule- at PDR’s throat as a reminder of her charges across the reaches of space. Though it may be useless to a being that can dust fleets with one hand, that definitely does not make it worthless.

UNI-CHR: A master of documentation, history and records, CHR is often the subject of ridicule for her dry choice of profession. Why bury yourself in dusty old tomes and digi-archives when there are systems still out there to subjugate? It certainly doesn’t help that she can reach sizes of “only” about 500km, a diminutive scale when compared to her enormous peers, which can lead to additional ribbing. The young 3rd generation Uni pays them no heed, seeking out repositories of knowledge wherever she can, be it from the accumulated data of a lesser civilization to the endless experience of a 2nd or 1st generation superior. Not only is this obsession with information used to catalogue the past but is put to use quite effectively in the day-to-day running of SCR’s domain. With ten thousand systems in it’s name to date, and dozens more added every cycle, keeping track of all it’s moving parts is a task CHR relishes.

This impenetrable minutia is often baffling to the average UNI, who rarely see the value in organizing it let alone noticing it from their lofty perches in orbit. This scrupulous record-keeping has nevertheless proved invaluable time and time again, with reports of brewing inconstancy and revolt in problem systems being reported much earlier than usual due to CHR’s data-analysis methods. This allows for much more focused destruction of these malcontents before their faithlessness spreads across the system.

When interacting with lesser species CHR is often courteous yet detached, valuing them as a data source more so than individuals. Still, that does mean that they have some inherent value aside from their service to SCR and as a result CHR makes some effort to avoid their cities when making planetfall for inspections and the like. In the spirit of facilitating a more willing cooperation between the planetary authorities and herself CHR often retools the methods and structure of their civilization, optimizing it into a well-oiled machine, allowing them to prosper in return for a steady flow of their precious stored data.

UNI-BSM: Whereas most of the other UNI under SCR’s sway pursue their assigned tasks with a dedicated zeal it would initially seem that BSM -one of the few generation 1 UNI in this community- has shirked her duties somewhat. As one of the oldest and most experienced UNI amongst the Truth-bearers, BSM has grown somewhat tired of the cosmos. Even the most fascinating natural phenomena and tiny wars between civilizations can dull over millions of years. The one thing that has retained it’s allure through all this time is the UNI form itself, both her own and those of her many companions over the years. This realization naturally drove her to the Cult of Physicality that SCR was forming, where she could put her natural “assets” to good use. For BSM is exceptionally curvaceous, even for a member of a species famous for their shapely form. She wields this fact well, often dressing extremely sparsely when she bothers to clothe herself at all, which is seldom. The effect of all this is further magnified by the scale she often appears in, as she has never been seen smaller than 100,000km and often at sizes far in excess of that. Whether this is a limitation of her nature or simply a personal choice is unknown, but SCR often leverages this size as an instrument of wrath against systems that are deemed beyond redemption. As a result, countless star systems have been annihilated between the smooth grey mounds of BSM’s ample breasts, their extinguishing stars not even tickling her.

When not meting out cosmic destruction BSM is infamous for her dalliances with her peers, most not being able to resist the allure of being with a generation 1 UNI, even if it is only for a short, passionate while. In fact these encounters can become so energetic that whole planets caught in the middle of them are often unknowingly ground to dust -hopefully without a civilization clinging to it. But what are the needs of lesser life forms compared to BSM’s whims? Nothing.

UNI-ZAN: Nearly the polar opposite of BSM, ZAN is more subtle, soft spoken and reserved (for an UNI). One of the number of her species blessed with abilities beyond her innate scale, ZAN is capable of directly interacting with others through the medium of the mind. Though not nearly as dramatic as mind-control and the like, ZAN is able to peer into the thoughts and emotions of millions of beings at a time, uncovering their needs, reservations and any potential… seeds of dissent. Naturally, this allows her to work in concert quite well with CHR, providing a slew of information of the population’s deepest concerns and desires, some of which modest ZAN cannot help blushing at.

However, in times of conflict or doubt, both at the local and Uni scale, ZAN is put to work rooting out traitors, turncoats and liars as few can resist her intrusions, especially so when her full attention is focused upon them. Entire populations can be punished over such accusations, with cities wiped off the map to silence the unworthy. When this happens, ZAN is conspicuously absent, often with one excuse or the other as the destroyers or tormentors go about their work. In truth, the deluge of despair that is produced in these instances is too much for her to bear, often overwhelming the otherwise composed UNI. Still she steadfastly carries on with her duty, believing that once the galaxy, then the universe is under their sway -united by SCR’s hand- there will be no more need for lies.

I may have gone a bit overboard again, but really enjoyed digging in a bit deeper into the kind of characters could exist in this setting while all trying to make them somewhat distinct!
All of these UNI of course have their own systems to worry about and care for, but which one would you most want to "educate" your own? Not that I'm trying to start a fight or anything, but I'd love to see who you guys think is the best!
