a lunch experiment, apparently skin is not that hard to tackle. Granted i could dig deeper on this, but that would defeat the point.I just wanted to see what i could with just gradients tool, dodge/burn tool , and smudge tool in 15 min. Have no intention of ever finishing this.

Actually natural looking skin is very hard to tackle. I'm still a long way away from natural looking skin, but I'm learning, slowly but surely.
One tip I got a few years ago from a pro colorist when I was first starting out is "staying away from the burn and dodge tools when it comes to coloring" unless it's used for small areas like "touch ups". Burn and dodge tends to give the colors a muddied look.

lol, this s true, ideally burn n dodge shouldn't define your approach to colors. that is what a pallet is for. given time constraints, i cheated. real skin is tough, no question, comic skin, well complex but not as tough! thanks for the feedback!
