Powers and principalities are actually demons.
Ephesians 6:12-13King James Version (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

They are not though.
They are the names of the orders, not the ACTUAL powers and principalities, as nouns.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christia…
So, to confirm, they aren't powers as in "I'm powerful." But, Powers, as in The "Powers" (lat . potestas (f), pl. potestates), or "Authorities", from the Greek exousiai, pl. of exousia (see Greek root in Eph 3:10 ).[9] The primary duty of the "Powers" is to supervise the movements of the heavenly bodies in order to ensure that the cosmos remains in order.
Name. Not noun.

Wow. First triad are a little trippy. No wonder people freaked out when they saw them.
Also, Nebiros seems like a pretty awesome guy, really. Helping you find your lost shit and teaching art. If I had to choose a guy to worship, it'd defiantly be him. Praise be to Nebiros.

I imagine this must have taken a lot of research. It's very interesting. Did you use online sources or library visits?

Thank you.
It took a little over two weeks if I remember correctly, for what is here = the shortened versions and the ones that matched each other. I found all the books and sources online and I believe I posted some of them somewhere in the comments. I don't really recall everything I used, because it was over 5 years ago.

I did some reading on the whole key of Solomon thing. It's pretty fascinating. Moreso when you take the way it integrates with other cultures. As a Christian I don't believe the demon-enslaving thing, but it's very interesting whichever way you look at it.

I think there is a mistake Choir 1, Third Triad in regards to 'Guidance of [...] human rights' considering existing parts of the bible does not support human rights.
eg. Commandment #1: 'Thy Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me/#2 Thy shalt not make an idol for oneself --------> Freedom of (other) religion is not allowed ----------> Violation of Human Rights.
So I think its more accurate if that part is removed. The rest if fine.

This wasn't created according to the Bible. This was created according to a myriad of different sources. It wasn't a research of the christian, jewish, muslim, or any other religion. This was a combination and a cross examination of all sources, collecting the parts that overlapped in different sources, from different writers. None of the information here is proof or fact, because, IN FACT, all of this is pure fiction, whether it's someone's belief or not. I don't mind criticism, but this was done over five years ago as a part of a school project. I could've included the parts where it is disgusting to eat shellfish, but I don't think that would be too interesting to note.

Very interesting!! May I ask what were the main sources you used? I tend to be curious about any kind of mythology, but I never read nothing about biblical angels and demons. I thought there were many generals and many princes in Hell (7 or 8 I think), not just Beelzebub and Astaroth

Thanks! Well I used various sources, but I did this 5 years ago, so I don't really remember where I found the sources. I believe someone asked me before, so if you have the patience to search through the comments, I'm sure you'll find something. This was done for fun and just to represent something interesting in a graphical way, so I'm not claiming any of this is 100% accurate.

It's really rather refreshing that you didn't just write unsavory things about the demons. A lot of people forget that in some religions, a lot of the "demons" were actually gods.

They are rather inspirational aren't they? I am a completely anti-religious person, so I approached this from a researchers perspective. I didn't want to write it in a bad or good way for either side, I just wanted to collect the information about all of them and display it in a cute fashion.

I think you might need to edit this. It doesn't say how Cherubim appear, and the image for them in misleading. Is it supposed to be four wings and four heads and cloven feet?

justdejan In reply to Danieltiger13 [2016-12-30 09:57:42 +0000 UTC]
I don't think I will edit this. This is a stylized representation, in no way accurate posted almost 5 years ago. I never claimed to be a theology expert and you can clearly see it's all very stylized. I didn't make the cherubs have different animal heads, hooves etc. Sources are different, all of these creatures are represented differently and there is no conclusive answer.

i really love this! iv looked at it and read it over several times! i had some questions if you dont mind; i noticed that the Virtues have pictures that are slightly blurred, is there a reason for this or was it just some kind of glitch (and/or they arent and im just seeing things) and also why did you choose to put a description for a couple of the angels but not all? Thanks for posting, great artwork!

justdejan In reply to ColombaBianca [2016-10-24 07:02:19 +0000 UTC]
Hey, glad you like it
You're not seeing things; Virtues are blurred because they are angels of motion and they are never visible in their immovable form. They are constantly misty and moving. I chose to represent them in such a way.
I covered all the angel orders, from the sources that I found, because that is how they are represented. None of the sources were consistent. A couple of angels had specific descriptions, but most of them had different names from different texts. I made a choice to describe the orders, instead of singling out specific ones.
I hope you find these answers satisfying

justdejan In reply to Draeko30 [2016-10-03 07:10:35 +0000 UTC]
Well yeah, that's how I understood it all. You have orders of angels and you have officers of hell with subordinate demons. That's how it goes. After Seraphim, there's god, but since there is no depiction of any kind of him/her/it and it's basically a being of pure energy and light, there is no real way of illustrating it.

The thing that disturbs me is that the demons have very normal personalities, or so it seems from this picture. It's creepy.
Like, I can picture Hitler being a normal guy who was very mistaken about how he could help his country, and did terrible, awful things as a result. But when I start personifying the things that are meant to be absolute evil, it starts freaking me out XD

kayanne21 In reply to ShadowIsStillAlive [2017-05-16 14:45:36 +0000 UTC]
Many religions favour total and abject faith and demonise rationality. Thus anything anything that can be considered a normal part of being human can be considered demonic.
....
We're a silly species, really.

That's an interesting thought. I've recently decided to judge things on a more individual basis, as opposed to identifying all of the group evil, but harmful beings still creep me out. There's always something bigger than us out there.

kayanne21 In reply to ShadowIsStillAlive [2017-05-19 19:00:33 +0000 UTC]
I think that's a good idea. Falling into a pattern of seeing the world as either good or evil is a mistake most of us make at one point or another. I think it's better seeing this as more a scale than two definite groups.
As for whether there's always something out there...I dunno. It's tempting and almost impossible not to look at life and find the concept of nothingness just impossible to comprehend. We're so small in the grand scale of things. Just specs. If there's something bigger than us out there, why would they even look at us. Why would they even care?
We're so small.

ShadowIsStillAlive In reply to kayanne21 [2017-05-22 03:57:58 +0000 UTC]
That's also very true. But who knows? If there is something bigger out there, maybe we're as strange to them as they are to us? Even if we're just like insects to another species, there are still those who are interested in that kind of thing (at least, in our world there are).

True, but it's not just us. Predators will learn to hunt best when they watch their prey, to know what's weakest or slowest. Maybe it's for reasons of survival, but I think that it is something that isn't unique to humans.

That is how demons tempt people: they don't act like psychopaths and monsters towards people like we see in media, they act genially and gently to trick people into trusting them so as to take them away from the right path.

justdejan In reply to ShadowIsStillAlive [2016-10-03 07:23:11 +0000 UTC]
I completely understand. When I did the research, I was surprised by how demons are associated with logic, art, science etc. and how rational they seem to be explained. Then I got to think about it and it all made sense. Religion and what we are told about angels and "good" is all dogma. Any rational thought and critical thinking is frowned upon and was, in the past, very forbidden. That is the nature of belief. That is why demons are hammered into the minds of people as evil and then given traits that you would, afterwards, associate with evil.
