So I’ve seen at least a few people do this kind of AU and I finally decided to do it to. I actually started writing this a long time ago and just decided never to post anything, which thank goodness, because believe me, it was not good art. This piece though, I’m pretty proud of, anyhow let me get into the story.

My Universe is called the Bad Start AU as, instead of things going awry sometime during or after the events of the show, it starts on the first episode, with the elements of harmony not being strong enough to defeat Nightmare Moon. As depicted in the first picture. (yes I did change twilights crown into a regular necklace just to get a cool shot)

After this initial failure, Nightmare takes over as the Queen of Equestria, and twilight pours everything she has into fixing her mistake. The mane six eventually try a second time to defeat Nightmare but by this point she has released discord to aid her and be her king. Discord is obviously totally OP as he should have been in the show, and twilight and the gang are totally unprepared, they fail again but manage to escape. Afterward they start the resistance.

The next best thought Twi had was to release the Pillars of Harmony, they make a valid attempt however again Nightmare is one step ahead and manages to stop the spell, with only Stygian AKA The Pony Of Shadows escaping. This third attempt and third failure effectively broke Twilight leaving Nightmare with the chance to finally catch the mane six, she doesn’t however, choose to kill them, as the elements could come in handy later and can’t be used without these six, and she doesn’t imprison them as their friendship is their greatest power, so she spreads them all throughout the corners of equestria and they all end up getting with a villain in one way or another. (Except Fluttershy who is with Ember IDK it just fit) but I’ll get into this in the next post.
