Another thing I did for the alternate-timeline version of Danny Phantom. I've been in a DP mood lately, which is likely why I've been posting fanart of that show. This time, I attempted to redraw a scene from the episode "Reality Trip", but in the Mighty Max-like style of the alternate-timeline Film Roman DP. This is also the first time you get to see Tucker and Sam in this style. I think this is how the episode could have looked if it aired in 1999 instead of 2006, and I made it look like a VHS recording. This would have been recorded off of a UPN airing as part of BKN's "Bulldog TV" block, about one year before Nickelodeon would acquire the rights to the series.

As for the "VHS effects", I actually used a cool little program called ntscQT. I started using that to generate some more authentic VHS effects, and it works! I might use that for fake screenshots from now on, instead of the simple grain and blur effects via Gimp.

And don't worry, Danny will still be voiced by David Kaufman in this version. I can't imagine anyone else as his voice actor, and David seems like the perfect choice. Sam would still be voiced by Grey DeLisle. As for Tuck, I'm not sure if he would still be voiced by Rickey D'Shon Collins, or be voiced by someone else.

On a somewhat related note, there's some good news... Nickelodeon is going to release a new DP graphic novel soon! I was kind of already aware of this earlier, but I thought I'd mention that here in case you were wondering if I knew about the upcoming comic. Even if we'll never get a fourth season for the real DP, at least Nickelodeon is making something new for the franchise in general. Let's hope it lives up to expectations! Before this, we hadn't really gotten any new official DP-related stuff (unless you count that "Fairly Odd Phantom" crossover, which I consider non-canon). At least there's fanart and fan-fiction, and it's fun to see what the Phandom comes up with (well, for the most part). And I suppose now I'm adding my contribution by doing this alternate-timeline version of DP!
