Based on woman I used to know who had been in an abusive relationship. Alone in the dark, she stares out through the crack of a locked door, the reflection of the window in her eye acting as a view of a way out, and of a place she cannot fully be a part of. The teeth under her eye are meant to show how there are consequences to her telling someone on the outside the secrets to her dark turmoil.
