Description
The only pic that I still like from 1999...Godzilla is by far my oldest obcession, shame I had never been that great at properly drawing him. I had a less of a difficult time drawing the newer version once the animated series was released, but I still was only able to pull of this single pose that I got from the trading cards that came from my Trendmasters series of toys.
I need to do some new stuff.....it's nagging at me more than ever lately
Godzilla/Deanzilla, Zilla, GINOΒ© Toho Ltd./Tristar

If they had just made the movie like the series it would have been so epic.

At equal sizes, or if Zilla Jr. bigger than Godzilla, I think Zilla Jr. is stronger, because both of them have atomic breath.

why can't they just get along?
Honestly i can see why many people could not like the move from 98, but if you pretend, that Zilla trys NOT to be Godzilla, but just a generic radioactive mutatet lizard, it's not so hard anymore to like him.

I can answer you're question. To a large majority of Godzilla fans, the monster from the 98 is not Godzilla. Roland basically made a realistic Godzilla. But the truth is, you cannot apply realism to Godzilla, it's near impossible cause he's a fictional character. The 98 movie also nonewhatsoever respected the source of the material, if you're going to title a movie with Godzilla's reputation, then the thing you create has to live up to that reputation, which the 98 Zilla didn't. It's like trying to make spider-man realistic where he can't shoot webs, he'd just be a regular dude in a red and blue costume.

Exactly, in the U.S., the monsters are made on computer effects, while in Japan, are costumes and props, I like Zilla, has a more monstrous design and colors that Godzilla, moreover, although the movie was not great, the series was very good, I even could even say that America make better monsters while ago japan make best robots, sometimes I wonder how had been all the Godzilla saga if it had been made ββin America.

The animated Godzilla '98 (also called "Zilla Jr.") was not the same creature that was seen in Final Wars. The creature in Final Wars, which is actually called Zilla, was a different creature altogether and was obviously meant to be a parody of the 1998 Godzilla to please dissatisfied fans. Final Wars had no connection or continuation to the 1998 film or TV-series.

Well back then (before that 1998 movie) the American Godzilla was green.

That was a parody, if anything. There was a slightly extended fight in the Rulers of Earth comic, but that was a disappointment aswell, especially considering they promised us a real fight, not an extension of the Final Wars-parody/mockery.

It's not the same, that "Zilla" in Final Wars was weaker and they made Godzilla way too powerful and just pwned all the monsters with ease. Now if it was kickin old skool style then Godzilla would have a hard time fighting US G.

I like how you have the beams going against each other.
But now I'm thinking of Final Wars...
Zilla's movie wasn't a good Godzilla movie, the animated series was like a redemption for it though.

I don't know who to root for. I've been a fan since watching the Toho films as a kid. But I adore the Amercanized version. Speaking of which. When the producers sent a marquis sculpt, Toho loved it so much they gave their blessing.

Cartoon Zilla is more like the Japanese Godzilla.
