Description
___________________Airships occur pretty frequently in Finding Calais, so I think a cross-section is quite overdue Hereโs one in the style of my old Spotter Boys piece here.
The Thresher is an excursion support ship, usually present in a cluster at the centre of any shoaled venture beyond planar Iara. They have decent payload capacity, and a concourse well stretching a good third of the envelope's length. Sundry logistics like tents and rations thus fall often within their purview. They are by no means specialised freighters, though, for they lack dedicated, reinforced floor space for true heavy lifting.

Very nice presentation.
The structure looks a little oversized, but if you did it to scale, you wouldn't be able to see it.
The funny thing is, nobody cares if the envelope gets (a little) heated. So, most insulation is on the outside of the envelope, and is mostly to stop water penetration (waterproofing for rain), and from the contents of the envelope from getting chilled (in concert with stopping water vapor from getting in the envelope, mixing with the lifting gas and becoming denser/heavier)
The only neg I will point out, is that a hoist line, being located near a prop nacelle, is likely a bad idea. Kind of along the lines of a superhero having a cape; when not weighted down with cargo, it could get tangled into the prop.

Thanks alot for your comment! So glad you connect with it overall. Am grateful you took time to share your thoughts and knowledge; much appreciated as it helps me push the realism where needed. (Yes, now I remember having second thoughts about the hoist line being so close to the prop too. I guess we can put it down to a big design foible that crews will have to work around, haha. Will certainly avoid that feature for any derivative of this ship!)

Understand, design errors make it into production, in the real world more so than fiction (although, always desired to be far and few between). This is inevitable, and how any crew deals with the issues goes to how well they work together. This also plays out well, if you incorporate it into a story too. Hopefully, the errors aren't too comical, which is why I tried to mention what I thought.
Thank you for taking my constructive criticism/commentary well. Cheers!

Now this is truly something! I like cutaways, and this helps give more details and depth to how your Universe's airships work! Bravo.
