So recently it was my friend 's bday and I decided to do a fanart of one of his characters [link] His archer design is sick which made it tons of fun to draw. This is one of my favorite pictures on Deviant Art.
The composition is wonderful. The lines are crisp where needed and blend into shading when needed. The picture is incredibly dynamic; the way he's swinging the bow, the flutter of the tassels and clothing, the strong diagonals of the bow/arrow give it such a sense of motion.
The technique is fabulous. The way he's holding the bow looks realistic and graceful. Details are well done and numerous.
I could go for pages. Job well done sir, job well fucking done.

Great pencil work! I'll be sure to see your-fathers-belt 's version. Does the bow compact together or something? It looks kinda mechanical and jointed.

Truly amazing. You have quite a lot of talent.
I especially like how everything flows together.
Seeing as I actually Arch a bit, it's important.
There's so much detail as well. From the buttons
to the tip of the arrow and the bow itself is a
complete masterpiece of it's own.
Wish I could draw as good as you. But I suck. xD
Not that it matters, I'm more of a writer than an artist anyways.
Whenever I think of something awesome to draw, I never can.
But describing it, however, that's where I'm at. xP
Keep on drawing, I might check out some of your other stuff later.

I love this picture so much! His pose, his outfit, his weapon (your-fathers-belt's character design is pure awesome but I think the way you put him all together makes it wicked beyond belief)! But for me his expression is the thing that really does it. he kind of looks like he's in a bit of a kerfuffle but he's just so chilled and calm. You can almost put him in a scenario where he's being charged by a pack of wolves for instance but he isnt even scared or worried, he's just waiting for the right moment to own them all with one shot. Anyway, enough of me blabbling on. Great Work!
