Columbus College of Art and DesignSophomore Advertising and Graphic Design - Fall Semester
Class: Figure Drawing
Teacher: Gregg Kumlien
Medium: Graphite (Powdered, 3B, and 9B)
Had to do a really carefully rendered drawing that shows affection towards the subject. And what better to show affection towards than Toothless?! Probably the best character since Neytiri. (And Minda before that)

Hmmm, the entire drawing probably took 5-7 hours. So, face was probably 3-4 of that since it is clearly the focal point.

Hmm, well it certainly paid off. I need to try my hand at this style of drawing more often. I'm taking a foundation drawing class in Spring to sharpen up my skills. So hopefully I'll be more refined afterwards.

I love to use dark mediums...i did a toothless with a 6b charcoal pencil....hard to get but i just smudged with my eraser and made it look alright....your picture is outstanding i love it man...i wish i could take an art class because ive never taken one in my life! just started drawing like 3 weeks ago...this movie is what inspired me to draw...and your work rocks...sorry for the huge message but stuff like this makes me glad that artists like you are out there and still doing stuff like this!
