Nate's my favorite from the show, too. He's so mature, has his head on right, and sees things as the are.Β That's what leaders are made of! Beautiful work. I really love it.

He definitely had the bearing of an officer. The way they talk, what they say, how they say it, very different from most of the specialists and men. He would fit right in a white-tie dinner.

Any one who has the balls to join the Marine Corps already had my respect and any graduate of an Ivy League School that had the balls to join The Marine Corps also already had my respect to begin with(Fick has a Degree in Classics and Government from Darthmouth College),but the more I learn about the real Nate Fick,the more I like the guy.I`ve watched a lot of clips and interviews he`s done that are up on Youtube,I just got into watching Generation Kill on DVD and I `m going to be getting his book,''One Bullet Away:The Making Of A Marine Officer.'' I think he`s a very impressive person.From what I hear,he`s currently the CEO of a national security think tank based in Washington,D.C.,called The Center For A New American Security,but I think someday Fick should run for public office someday-maybe,even for President,someday.Someone like Fick or John Nagl or Eric Greitens or Wes Moore or Seth Moulton or Paul Rieckhoff or Elizabeth Young McNally and so on and so forth should seek out public office of some kind,someday.Politics needs people like them,because I don`t think it has nearly enough people like them.These people know how to lead,as Fick once said in an article on Young Military Veterans called ''The Next Greatest Generation'' for Time Magazine,last year and I think people like them would have something meaningful to contribute to Politics(but I guess,we`ll see if any of them would ever develop an interest in getting involved in politics).
This Oil painting is almost photorealistic in it`s detail,the grit,the grime and the colors and tone,etc, all match something one would expect in a scene right out of the Mini-Series! Looking at great paintings such as this,really help to inspire me to learn more about Oil Painting and to try taking it up,someday.
This oil painting nailed Fick`s baby face in the Series.Love Generation Kill(the HBO Mini-Seroes Series and The Book it was based on),Fick is awesome and so is your painting!
