For me, ladybugs have a special place in my heart, so I'm very picky with photographs that have them. I hope you will be pleased to know that I really like this piece.

I love how you make sure to make the ladybug the focal point, but say nothing about it in the title. The title itself makes this photograph cute. With it, it makes me think of a ladybug stomping around in the tulip like a little kid would in sand and come out being a mess. I think you were lucky enough to catch this shot with the ladybug covered with yellow pollen.

You made a good choice with making the tulip out of focus. For me though, it's a bit too out of focus. I guess the only think making it okay is the seeds in the flower.

Your values are very good and I'm glad that the flower was this golden yellow color that darkens to an orange like color. Makes it seem like the red of the ladybug rubbed off in the center to make it that orange color. (Yes, I have a strange way of thinking.)

Very well done. I could hardly find anything bad to say about this, just praise. I hope to see more pieces this good from you in the future.

Ladybugs have a special place in my heart as well! What is funny about your comments about the title and what it makes you think of, is that you are not far off! It was rolling and crawling all over the inside. When it perched itself on the egde like that I had two seconds to get a couple of shots before it flew away!

I wish often that the DOF was wider, as I do not have a true macro lens (I use stacked filters) it takes the DOF down to a sliver.

It does kind of look like the redness rubbed off!

Thanks for the flattering and wonderful review. It really made my day!

I thought so. I was so excited after I shot this that I ran upstairs and immediately uploaded it to see if the focus was clear. Sometimes that happens, where I think I have the shot.. I think it is exactly what I wanted.. then I upload it and see the focus is off or is a mess. It can be heartbreaking when that happens!

Thanks again!
