Baby Midland Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta)Location: North America
Range: Southern Quebec and southern Ontario to Tennessee, northwest Georgia, and extreme northeastern Alabama
At this time it's shell was no bigger than 8.5cm lengthwise.

Thank you He is not mine, he is a wild turtle. I was within 6 or 7 feet, I was very lucky he was feeling calm on this day. Every other day they jump into the water when humans get close.

I used to go to this lake every day every summer when I was younger and you couldn't turn around w/o seeing these little guys perched on a log or sunning themselves on a rock

so cute! i used to have little turtles like this, they're like the size of a quarter?! good job on the pic, those little guys dont like to sit still!

These ones have about a 4" shell at this time, but this week I am shooting some that are about the size of a quarter. They are so tiny and cute!
