Baby Midland Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta)Location: North America
Range: Southern Quebec and southern Ontario to Tennessee, northwest Georgia, and extreme northeastern Alabama
At this time it's shell was no bigger than 8.5cm lengthwise.

I love the brilliant hues and the saturation of the turtle.
What is it that he's proudly sitting on?
Also, the composition is pretty good. The turtle is in a good spot and I like the rocks(?) fanning out behind him.
All in all, great model, great photo.

He is on a log It splits in two directions behind him, and it reminded me of a wake when I was taking the photo.

My mother had put to much water in the tank and well, he apparently flipped on his back and drowned

Nice! I've always wanted a turtle because they are so awesome.. but animals in tanks/cages make me very sad because they just sit there and then I end up not wanting them anymore lol

i found one of these little guys camping in pardeeville last summer. little dude died a couple days ago. very nice shot. (i'm from kenosha)
