Possibly... two ideas I had on how it could have ended differently:

He dropped the scythe falling to his knees in front of her. Slowly he brought his hands to her face and pulled her into a sweet kiss. He pulled away as if horrified but before he could move away she pulled him back into her embrace. Finding each others lips they shared a passionate kiss as Batman gagged from his perch above.

She stood there as he held the scythe over her head. He brought it down and it struck her shoulder, digging deep into her flesh. Blood poured out onto her green dress and suddenly she blacked out as the mad man keep hacking at her unconscious body... Batman no where in sight...ious body... Batman no where in sight...
