Description
An adoption tryout for Kudamo, an old character of *SterlingRuinsFall337 . His original reff can be found here: [link]Let me just tell you right now, the description for this deviation is HELLA LONG. Hence why there's no notes on it kthnx. Let me just say that I have loved Kudamo ever since I started watching Sterling. LOL. I've always wanted to draw him, and most of the time it didn't work. Amazingly, it worked this time (The one in the lower left was the first one, hence why it looks like shit LOL;;; )
Name: Kudamo
Age: Unknown
Gender: Undefined, mostly thought of as male
Bio: Kudamo's origin is unknown to any, but one thing is for sure; His past wasn't the best. As a kid, maybe at the age of 10, a girl named Katsu stumbled upon him wrapped around in electric wires. She went to touch him to see if he was still alive, however she got zapped quite strongly by the still-running electricity. She saw a large object protruding from the side of the creature, its screen blurred by static. She quickly ran off and grabbed a stick, pushing the wires off of the beast and, with whatever strength she had, pulled him away from them.
Not only was he electrified, but his skin was also shreded, flaps of skin hanging limply from his body. However sickening this might sound, it wasn't bad at all. Inside the creature, past its skin, is nothing but metal slates, rods... A living being of metal. He was robotic! She pushed the skin back to its original place, as being 10 made the sight fairly disturbing to her. Suddenly, the object on his side flashed a bright pink color, before going all black once more. She starred at it, until a thin line of pink trailed across it, soon jumping up into a climax before going back down and straight again. Lights upon the creatures mask started to glow, and fluids of unknown origin began to pulsate through the tubes coming from its mask to its shoulders. Katsu scrambled back slightly, as the creature pulled itself to a stand, as if nothing had happened. It looked down at the girl, its mask slightly cracked and scratched.
A small beep of a noise came from the monitor on its side, and its gears began moving, putting its head into her hands. She pet the creatures soft chest, and admittedly, for a moment, forgot it was even a robot. The way the metal inside of this creature was placed made it feel as if it were a real, living animal. For about an hour or so, she sat with this creature and watched in interest as it moved. Its movements were so realistic, and the robotic animal didn't seem to even notice its skin hanging from its sides.
Soon, though, it began to rain. Katsu quickly took off her long coat and threw it over the animal, of course, having major problems doing so. The creature was the size of a grown man, while she was only at a grown man's hips, if not a bit taller. She looked at him with a worried look, but she knew she had to get home. She began walking away before hearing a slight sound behind her. The animal was following her like a loyal dog! She continued walking, this time backwards, and still the animal continued to follow.
In truth, the animal knew no better. It was what he was programmed to do; To obey his owner. And, in this case, the little girl. After being electricuted by the wires, his systems were erased, thus his memories had been forgotten as well. Now, his memories started with the girl. He had faint memories of his past, he could feel them, but he couldn't remember them. He followed the girl all the way home.
He stayed with this girl ever since, and was now all fixed up; His skin was now back together, due to some clear, transparent thread, and everything was running smoothly. The only difference, though he didn't notice, was the fact that some of his fur was darker than the rest, due to the electricity burning it. For a few months, the girl didn't exactly know what to do with her new pet, and was completely confused. She'd saved him, and he became loyal to her, and his body was man made. That was all she knew! Did he eat? Did he play at all? Did he ever speak? She knew nothing about this creature!
Over the years, Katsu grew used to the animal, and knew more and more things as time passed. The creature wore a mask, which couldn't be removed. This told her that, while he has the room for a stomach and organs, even if artificial, he didn't eat, which also showed her that he didn't need any 'cleaning up'. And, at different times, the signal on his 'monitor', as she called it, changed in height and length, which showed that it was doing something different each time it changed.
She did, however, notice a few flaws as well. When the creature walked, he had a few problems with the joints, and made a cranking sound as if he was stuck. Also, while he moved, every time he did, the piece of metal moving would make a slight screeching noise, like that of a cheap remote-controlled robotic pet. Feeling bad for him, she went to work. She had a base knowledge of mechanics; but this creature was quite high-tech. She decided that, while working on him, she would make a blueprint of everything she saw. She quickly drew everything out over the time of a few days, then went back to fixing his issues. She removed the bits of debris from his joints, and oiled them down. She also oiled down his other joints, making sure not to use to much. She could see the outside metals, but she knew there had to be wires somewhere. She patched him up again, and noted his actions as the years continued to pass.
Soon enough, the war began. Katsu was now a grown woman, and was ready for battle. She left to go out for battle, however the creature followed. While in battle, she left herself open to attacks from behind. Kudamo, who was by her side, could see the man sneaking up behind her. His 'eyes' (In other words, the pink part on his mask) flashed and turned red, warning his master. She, being to busy to notice the change in color, continued to defend her front. Then, Kudamo's first words were spoken. "Behind you." is all he said, and even in the shock of hearing his voice, she looked behind herself, but it was nearly to late. Before the man could throw his arm down, slashing her down with his dagger, the large animal rammed himself into the man, his claws extending from their place, longer now, before he stabbed through the man. The woman's eyes widened, a smirk now playing at her lips. As soon as the small battle was over, she went back 'home' and began to examine him closer.
By this time, curiosity was to strong for her to hide anymore. She began to toy with his innards, and found the mainframe of his structure. It was in the 'ribcage' area, which wasn't that big of a surprize. The surprize was the size of the mainframe, being nothing but a chip in a larger box of a machine. She took the chance and took out the chip, which shut the beast down. This chip gave her everything she never knew.
The creature had a name; Kudamo, a pet genetically engineered by man to be nothing but a pet. But, after seeing what she had on the battle field, she knew there had to be more behind this 'pet' than met the eye. She searched all throughout the chip's server, looking through everything she could. Most of which, she didn't understand, for it was numbers and coding. She did find one thing, however. Reading through what seemed to be a journal entry of the creation, it read; "Kudamo, a creature engineered to be the best pet for mankind. We've finally done it.. Kudamo has the features of some of the best animals for each part of it for best opperation. The ears of a rabbit, detecting noise with ease; The paws of a canine, its larger paws in the back helping to propel the creature in the air while jumping, and provides better balance for the inner core of this masterpiece; The body of a large, male lion, its mane short to keep its aerodynamics in tact, while its structure shows the strength that lies behind this creatures appearance; The legs and flexibility of a cheetah, long and lean and provide the animal with the best of speeds; and a mask, which hides all that lays beneath Kudamo's skin.... That hides all that we dont know about our own creation. Kudamo, somehow throughout all of its creation, gained a mind of its own. Perhaps this is a better trait; Now, its owner may teach whatever they want to it."
Reading this gave the woman a slight excitement. Not only did all of this give her information about Kudamo, it gave her the knowledge of knowing that this creature could learn whatever she wanted him to know. And, she already had the idea implanted in her mind; She could use him in the war. She read everything else on the chip, and paid close attention to everything before she spotted something else; This little piece of writing sparked an idea in her mind. There was a full blueprint of Kudamo, showing all of the wires and metals and showing their uses, and she followed one wire in particular. The wire that gave Kudamo a voice.
In her free time, between battles, Katsu began training Kudamo, teaching him battle tactics and defense, as well as basic dog tricks. However, the thing she focused her free time on was a small earpiece. This earpiece would be placed in her ear, while the receptor of it would be connected to Kudamo's 'Voice wire'. This way, his thoughts could be heard in her own ears, since the beast hardly ever spoke aloud. After about a year of failed projects, the device finally worked. She had to train herself to become used to the computerized voice, and soon enough, the two connected more than before. He would think a thought, and to his surprize, his owner would reply, her voice ringing in the sound receptors in his ears.
Time passed, and the two became quite close, and by this time, those lingering thoughts of his unknown past left Kudamo's mind. Kudamo became a useful tool for the woman, being used as both a weapon, a defense, and even a form of transportation; due to his size, Kudamo was ridden like a horse at times. Kudamo doesn't know the actions he's doing, all he knows is that he's obeying his masters orders, and loves the fact that he does it right. All he wishes is to keep his master happy and proud of him, so he does whatever he's told. And now, with the war going on, thats exactly what he does.
Personality: Kudamo has a pretty blank personality, and doesnt show any emotion. His mask will turn red if danger is near, but otherwise nothing is ever really shown. Katsu, however, knows a slight knowledge of his personality due to the fact that she can hear his thoughts. From this, she's learned that he's a considerate animal, and only wishes to obey and keep things in tact. He's quite protective, too, and will throw himself in the line of fire to protect Katsu. He rarely has thoughts of regret or doubt, however.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SENSORS:
Blue: The color blue shows the one place that allows sight, and thats the upper pink part of his mask. This part of his mask was designed to duplicate the actions of the human eye, taking in the light/colors of the objects before him and flipping it, turning the lights into pictures in his mainframe.
Green: green shows the parts used for healing. Inside the 'skin' of Kudamo's ears are many microscopic circular plates that, when hit by sound waves, collect the sound and send it to the mainframe. Nearly the whole ear is plated with these mini plates, thus hearing for Kudamo is easy.
Yellow: The two yellow spots (One on each side of the chest) show the receptors for smell. These lay beneath the skin and, when chemicals pass by, it absorbs them and, like the human nose, turns them into smells. Due to their placement and size, Kudamo can smell very well, however he cant smell very well from anything behind him.
Orange: Spots labeled in orange are heat/cold receptors. These places, especially the circular lumps on his back, can instantly notice a change in temperature.
Ice Blue: Places that are labeled by this color are touch receptors. Naturally, these would be the biggest receptors. They read the difference in pressure, and according to the pressure, can tell when Kudamo is being touched. The makers gave plates on his underside so the owner could have the pleasure of rubbing his belly, with him actually reacting. His mane, however, is also touch receptive. Many hairs scattered through this mane have mini receptor wires in the middle of them. Much like a cats whisker, if these specific hairs are moved, the feeling tells him that something is there. Unseen in the picture, however, are his pawpads. These are the strongest touch receptors, and help Kudamo to feel his way around if need be.
DETAILS
-Kudamo's claws are actually made from glass, which, when made, were made longer than normal. So when needbe, a little nail-shaped presser goes out, pushing out the claw with it. This makes his claws extend much like a cat, though longer and they cant actually retract all the way.
-Kudamo has no blood, muscles, or anything of the sort. His whole body is mechanic, covered in a dyed, manmade pelt. For the owners pleasure, his fur was made to feel like chinchilla fur, soft and gentle, though the short parts of his fur feel slightly wirey.
-The tubes coming from Kudamo's mask to his shoulders are made from a very thick, pink latex. Liquid transports from here to the rest of the body, though the reason is uncertain. It's believed to act as 'blood', and that it keeps his system running. However, the reason for these tubes are undefined.
-Kudamo's structure goes like this;
-In the center of him, in his ribcage area, is a fairly large box. Coming from this box are many upon many wires and cords. On the top of this box is a small slit, in which the chip containing everything about Kudamo is held. it includes everything about his creation, and all of his details. Much like a computer, it controls his actions by containing many different codes and strands of numbers. These codes act somewhat like DNA, in a computerized form.
-Around this box of information are plates of metal, each one corresponding with each other so movement is easy. Many gears are also part of this layer, helping by being the base of the joints. However, the main part of this layer is the mechanics. This layer includes all the moving parts, the electronically moving 'muscles', and everything else that makes Kudamo move.
-The next layer is more sheets of metal, a lot like the previous layer, but more detailed. These help give Kudamo shape, and are thick, giving the protection to everything else. This top layer does nothing, and simply moves with the under layers. Mixed in with these sheets of metal, though, are the receptors, that give Kudamo senses of heat, touch, sight, smell, and sound. Taste is not needed, as Kudamo isn't required to eat. Another edition to this layer are all the lights within Kudamo, including the lights needed for the monitor, his mask, and his front claws. There are also lights at the base of the tubes that make them glow.
-After this is simply the pelt, which gives the appearance of a living animal. Kudamo's mask is attached directly onto the metal layer beneath the pelt, the screws going through pieces of the pelt to keep it in place. Same thing with his monitor.
REASONING OF PAST
In his bio, it states that his past is unknown. That was just to keep it short, and because that was where his memory ended. This is where its explained. Kudamo was created in a lab after humans got the idea of the 'perfect pet'. A legal pet that all pet owners could be happy with; The content dog owners could have a pet that appeared like a large dog, a horse rider would like the quality of his horse-like size, and even those wild-animal keepers would like him for his size and mystery. He was made with the best of qualities all in one.
His first owner was one of the workers who made Kudamo, in order to make sure that everything worked. Once Kudamo was checked off, his system was rebooted and was sent to his second owner, who believed that Kudamo was nothing but a robot. He abused Kudamo without even knowing it, slamming a fist into his side everytime he stopped moving. Since his side has a touch receptor, it felt all the pressure, and registered in his mainframe as pain. After about a year or two of being used as nothing but a hunch of metal, Kudamo ran away.
Since the area he was now in was unknown to him, his systems were a blur, trying to take in everything they could to try and make sense of where he was going. He eventually walked into his 'death', which was a power plant. The electric wires caught into him, and the electric shock went right to the metal of his mask, which instantly directed it to the metal. Because of this, the wires within him were caught in it, causing his 'muscles' to go out of control. He moved and thrashed against his own will, and got entangled in the wires. Throughout all of this, his monitor shut off, which caused him to shut down as a safety measure to keep his mainframe from getting effected. He was left with nothing but static on his monitor, like when a TV is on the wrong channel. This is when his bio comes into play, and when his life 'restarts'.

Ah, you misunderstood! ;O;
This was my attempt at adopting a character, the character already found a home and is no longer up for adoption. I lost of course, ahaha.

And you're being completely incompetent and small-minded because first of all, between me and the artist of the deviation she put up, that's normal, everyday talk. Second of all, I know her in real life, and third of all, you completely butted in and assumed something about a situation you obviously know nothing about.
This comment and deviation is old, and if the artist felt offended she would tell me in her own reply (In which said case I would obviously apologize properly had she felt the least bit offended and mentioned such a thing). She doesn't need half-wits storming in uninvited thinking they know anything about everything and beginning to jump to conclusions on a mere whim.
Thank you and have a good night~

LOL LIKE SHE'D EVER SWEAR.
The closest chance we have of her saying "shit" is if she typos the words; "shirt", "shot" or "shut" accidentally.
But the chances are way high if we're talking TYPOS

Good luck and great job. (:

xDDDD I like the idea of it too, but it's still unrealistic for a computer program to be able to think on its own, unless it was an improved version of cleverbot or something. xD
