I just changed my account on there and did something very stupid.....I decided to delete the account and hit the button...off it went....then I realised that I had no record of all the people that I was watching

Must admit, I'm glad to be away from some as they kept posting photos of family days out...about 15 photos a day and always at least a couple on a daily basis.....I thought Redbubble was about your BEST work, not a photodiary! Ok, enough ranting, I'll go now

That's always my biggest fear...you book a holiday in a lovely sunny part of the world, you look forward to it for ages then you get there and ir rains! Happened to me the first time I ever visited the south of France...and when I visited Switzerland the first time, to see all those beautiful mountains and lakes....it flippin tipped it down for days, nothing but fog and low cloud - never saw a single peak!
Now - real progress will be man learning to control the weather

Yea.. going someplace you cant go back to, on a once in a lifetime trip ,that would be awful. I cant feel too badly for her, she owns the condo there at Ocean Reef Club and gets ther fairly often.. She will recover lol. We booked a cruise to Bermuda in one September a couple of years back ,and it was the year the hurricanes were bad, and they diverted the cruise to Maine (where we USUSally go in September).. some on the cruise didnt know they werent headed to Bermuda until they were aboard and we were underway. One couple from England had friends coming to meet them for their wedding in Bermuda and they had to scramble all week to find a port they would be allowed to get married in (Portland Maine let them).. and then get in touch with all the guests who were to fly in! ..We took it in stride.. we had two previous trips to Bermuda..and figured we couldnt do anthing but enjoy.. and since we LOVE Maine..it was fine lol..

one funny bit on that trip, the couple in the next cabin were FROM Portland Maine... he got off the ship for the day and went to work when we landed there and then got back on end of the day.. funny stuff

Oh geeze...what a tale ...at least you guys enjoyed it

I once went on a 'Mystery Tour' with the local bus company....most people I know that had done it before ended up at the beach or some cute little village in the highlands.....we went on a tour of our own area, right past the house, across the bridge we saw from the window and ended up in a park about 15 mins from the house! At least it was only an afternoon out

It's quite easy really, You have to zoom in to the closest position (my lens was at the full 300mm) and set the f/stop to the smallest number (in this case f/5.6)and focus on on object as close to you as possible. If you have lights, dew drops or the like in the background, you will get this type of effect. The effect is more or less pronounced depending on the size of the lens. That's not a very 'technical' explanation but if you search under tutorials for Bokeh you will find some great stuff and some rather surprising effects that can be achieved by cutting a shape in some black card and using it as a mask over the lens! Thank you so much for faving it!

How to do it...well, I'm not very technical and forgive me if I'm telling you things that you already know.......
Here I used my 75-300mm at the full 300mm zoom. I set the F/stop to the smallest number to get a shallow Depth of Field ie, creating the most blur in the background as possible, then focused on something as close as possible, like the dew drops. As long as there is something to reflect light, dew drops, lights etc in the background, you will get this lovely blurred dots effect. You can even make a mask with a cut out shape to put over the lens to get really creative effects - [link]

Try looking up tutorials or go to The Knowledge where you can get lots of help from more experienced photographers....good luck
