Description Prints available @ society 6 [link]

Last in the series, also a lithograph on stained paper.

This piece is very personal to me. Let's just say that it takes more than just being birthed by a woman to make her your mom.

it's more than title
....and it's deeper than blood

Haha oh i see ya trying to butter me up.

But this piece is suppose to feel very delicate with only a light wash of color. If i were to add any more it would deter from the meaning and purpose of the piece.
You understand

Wow, damn... I couldn't really tell what this was from the preview... It's such an interesting contrast for the skeletons to be alongside birth imagery... Again, sorry if I've been misinterpreting all these things, but when I look at it, it seems like a kind of womb is being knitted for two little infant skeletons...

The knitted womb part alone is a fascinating concept- ties in a lot of comforting motherly connotations as well as the idea of complexity. And you must be a knitter or at least have observed it well, because I can totally follow all the stitches and though it's incredibly tangled and intricate, make some knitting sense out of it. Amazing.

I'm sure has a different meaning for you than for me, but it's certainly striking and personal. It reminds me of my twin sister and I, which is why I want to see it as a womb so bad, it looks just like our ultrasound pictures XD!

So delicate and sweet... and with skulls, amazing.

Oh don't worry about interpretation, after all ambiguity in artwork leads to such interesting interpretations.

You got it right that it is both a womb and a knitting, and yes i kind of know me way around a needle & thread.

Its nice that you can associate yourself & your sister to this piece cause i kind of made it about me & my sister. But we aren't twins though, hehe.

When i first made this image i was feeling a bit bitter towards someone in my life (not sure if i want to put the story down in the image's description) but in the end the image did become much sweeter. It became more of an appreciation of my mom.

Thank you!

I love this work and I think I understand what you mean when you say that it takes more than just being birthed by a woman to make her your mom.

Either way, you're very talented and this is an amazing artwork. :3
