An interpretation of Rude and Reno from FF7/AC ( yes its sort of RudexReno /ohnoes ..dont hate me! Reno has the capacity to be everyones bitch! D: )- inspired/kind of a request by an irl friend, who *also* challenged me to attempt Rude with no shirt lol. I had NO idea how to draw Rude. He has more testosterone than 5 square characters combined o_O. So..w/e
so..LOL Ive never even seen any decent fanart of him at all.. ( not saying it doesnt exist..I just havent seen it )

When I look at this piece I can feel how you struggled and comparing it to your more recent piece of Rude x Reno, I can tell how much you've improved in so little time.
Though to be fair I prefer this version, not because of the 'nudity' but because of the fact that Rude actually looks more tough guy in this one.
Anyone can look tough in a suit, but not many can do it in a shirtless manner without looking like a douche
So kudos on the great execution and progress in your pieces.

Β I actually have a really hard time looking at this piece because it's one of my first digital paintings D: I think I had only been teaching myself to paint for like, 3 months. And prior to that, I had become very jaded and disillusioned with art (because of the machine-like way artists are treated, and how they treated each other when I worked for an animation studio). So I had not drawn in 2 years.
Β And I was never a painter either 
Β But yeah, as you said, the redeeming part of keeping an old piece, is that I can see how far Ive come.

Youre comment about decent fanart, i totally agree, but with one small exception. THIS IS OFFICIALLY THE BEST FANART IVE SEEN OF HIM, you jumped over decent, ran around incredible, flattened stunning, and made epic look tiny and insignifigant with the sheer brilliance of this piece!

I love this picture for its details: the bruises on Rude's knucles, Midgar out of the window, the natural pose, the beer, and, of course, for finally seeing Rude's muscles. XD For some reason I particularly like the fact he has hidden tattoos under his jacket.

I don't agree with this pairing, however I find I MUST overlook it simply because I find I enjoy looking at it too much. You've done a fine job with both of them, in my opinion. ^^ I have never really seen any fanart of Rude to begin with...but this is fantastic. It feels very true to their characters. ...and once again...while I don't agree with the pairing (I'm not even very into yaoi as it is) I can't help, but feel that if they WERE a couple...that's what it would look like. XD
