Heh, I was thinking the same exact thing at that part of the episode. I keep saying over and over, "Look up Motoko, at Batou. Not straight ahead... up!" But then again, they did go into another room afterwards, and Batou did stay the night, so you never know...

And if I remember correctly from both the original manga and an episode of 2nd Gig (#17, Red Data, where the Major ends up helping the refugee kid in Taiwan), I'd say they can do that.

It's rather sad that there's a complete lack of Motoko/Batou art out there. Guess we're a rare breed of fans.

Thankfully, no, the Major doesn't boink anyone in 2nd Gig. XD I don't want to spoil what happens for you if you plan on watching 2nd Gig though. If you're curious though, let me know and I'll let you in on the part I'm thinking of.

I can actually understand where they might get that the Major is gay, especially after reading the original manga where she's seen playing around with a couple of her friends. But at the same time, she has a boyfriend from Section 1 in the manga, which just seems strange. o.O; But Batou is Batou. XD

I'm never reading the manga. -shakes head- I dont want the Major to have a boyfriend aside from Batou. I've got nothing against gays/bi's but ... I dunno; I assotiate yaoi/yuri with the fans. And the fans always irritate the living sugar out of me. X(

The manga is definitely interesting and shows a humorous side to the characters that the the movies and series don't present. Especially with the Major. [link] There's a lot of talking in it and can be a little confusing at times, but I'd highly recommend it to any GITS fan. (as long as you don't mind the couple of pages of yuri that show up in the third chapter.) And you only really see her boyfriend in one or two chapters of the eleven total, so you don't really see him that much. I personally did find it a little awkward reading those parts, but thats just because it seemed out of character, in my mind, for Motoko. I wouldn't discount the manga entirely due to that factor though. Its still a really good read.

One neat thing about the manga though, is the fact that as you read through you can actually see some of the plot lines that they've used for both the series and movies (obviously, the first GITS movie is based off the major storyline of the manga.) It's especially neat how they've actually connected 2nd Gig to the manga. But once again, I won't give anything away any more in that aspect.

Awesome! I might acutally give the manga a try. I read that short page of the manga and the drawing style is really surprising. I thought it would be more ... detailed than that. XD Although considering how old it is it really shouldn't be a surprise. Lol. I guess I can skip the yuri scenes though, and really try hard to pretend that Motoko's boyfriend is really like a best friend or something. XD

I finally finished watching 2nd Gig. The series was brilliant! Though I hated it when Kuze and Motoko hugged near the end. I was growling. XD Though I'm itching to know who the Major was talking about when Juze said; "Do you have someone you can open up to?" and she said; "Yeah, I guess I do."
It did cut to a scene with Batou trying to free the Major, but you cant be too sure.
In that Red Data episode Motoko reeeeeally creeped me out. I only watched the english version, and I'm trying to find a japanese english subs version so that Motoko isn't really that weird, but when that that kid said; "Hey, if your a cyborg, can you still have sex?" and Motoko said; "Wanna find out?"
I was like "...... Oh my God! Major!"

+ In that case, you have an awesome sig! I should try it out on Silent Hill and see if it works. XD
