so uhh, explaining a few things bout his design.
1) why he has a bandage is bc (some) demons have birthmarks determining their birth sex, since kano is transmasc, he covers it.
2) why he was horns on his forehead now is bc he took demon testosterone (idk what to call it 💀) and grew horns there, he cut off his original horns (which is why he wears the bun things, to cover the stumps)
3) the machinery on his back, it's a (inactive) tracking device.

now, why does kano have a tracking device on his back? well i'll tell you. kano (like most demons) lived in hell for a while, and he was kidnapped from his family by a large group of high ranked demons and taken into the 'gruff' stadium as a participant/player.
'Gruff' is a popular sport in hell that many like to bet on and watch, to which it extremely similar to dog fighting. Essentially two to five low rank demons of any species of demon are thrown in a cage-like arena/stadium and are forced to fight to the death. There aren't any rules in gruff aslong as they don't leave the arena, anything goes. As assumed, demons do not play gruff by choice, they are euther bred into it or kidnapped and forced to do it. gruff players, when not fighting, are kept in cages/pens like animals and are treated as such. tracking devices are implanted on the players backs that showcase their player number. if a player escapes captivity and leaves hell itself, a function in the device sets off which stabs many long needles into the organs which will cause the demon to bleed out and die. in gruff, if players refuse to play, they will be whipped, cut or even killed.

kano was one of the 'favourite' players because of his strength due to being an oni, he killed well over 100 other demons in gruff and he has not forgiven himself for it, despite he was forced and had no choice ☹️
he eventually escaped the arena but didn't leave hell yet (bc the device would kill him)
he currently is out of hell and the devuce is inactive (still figuring out how those two things were accomplished)
