"I always knew we'd end up like this." Kale calmly said as Lia-nara held her lightsaber near his throat. "Why? Why did you kill those men? They were employed by the Republic, they were allies yet you slaughtered every last one of them. Why?" Lia-nara asked while staring straight at Kale's eyes, which is still menacing yellow. Kale kept an emotionless face and said "It needed to be done. They completed the mission, yes. But if you saw what they've done to the townsfolk, you'd be disgusted as well. Pillaging the town. Robbing, beating or killing the men. Women and children raped in front of everyone. Don't you think that they deserved what I did to them? Wouldn't you have done the same to them?" Kale saw the battle in Lia-nara's eyes before she answered "Yes, but I wouldn't kill them or use the Dark Side to do it. You could've just apprehended the..." Kale grabbed her collar and brought their faces and the lightsaber closer. He sneered and Lia-nara felt fear as she stared at his yellow eyes, full of emotion and hate. "Apprehend them! You think if I did that they wouldn't try to break free and do it again!? Those mercenaries were committing crimes, crimes so despicable that a life sentence in prison is not enough! They don't deserve that! They don't even deserve a quick death! I had to make every single one of them beg for death before I finally liberated their pitiful souls from their miserable bodies." He slowly relaxed the grip he had on her collar "I swore to myself that I wouldn't let the Dark Side flourish within me. That I wouldn't let it get the better of me. Prove to you Jedi that there can still be Serenity, yet Emotion. Passion, yet Peace. Chaos, yet Order. Those were the things I wanted to prove and I almost did. I almost did. You were the first witness to that and now the first witness to my foolhardy belief that I can achieve it. I lost control, but I don't regret what I've done and I will never regret it." Lia-nara lowered her head as he finished, shadowing her eyes from view "I've contacted the Order and told them what happened. They told me that I was to arrest you and take you to the Republic to explain you're actions and if you won't listen... Kill you." Slowly, teardrops fell to the ground "No matter how many times the Order say it, I won't kill you. Just thinking about feels like I'm slowly being chocked to death..." She lifted her head and revealed her cyan eyes, filled with tears. "You're right. I was the first witness to your redemption. You showed me that even as a former Sith, you would risk your life for the lives of others. The lives of the innocent and your friends. You showed me that there are flaws in both sides. You showed me that there is Darkness in everyone and you could control it, but never let it control you. Every time you felt anger and darkness influence your mind, you held on to the anger but never the darkness. You kept it at bay to avoid hurting your friends. To avoid innocents getting in harm's way. Used your anger to focus on the enemy and empower you but never let the Dark Side cloud your mind. Those things are what made me open up to you. Tell you everything that I kept bottled up inside because of the Order's rules. Things that would've kept me distant to anyone. The things you showed me shed a little bit of light in my world and lulled me away from a dull life of an emotionless Peacekeeper. You freed me... But the best thing you ever showed me was..." She turned the lightsaber off and let it fall to the ground "Emotion." She grabbed his coat and pulled him into a deep kiss. Kale widened his eyes at the action and slowly brought his arms around her waist. His yellow eyes slowly receded to their normal grayish blue color as he let himself go to the kiss. It was a moment he would never forget. A moment of remember.
